This is an interesting sub-topic. I've been completionist on a lot of things in my life & once I get priced out of the market by artificially induced rarity & upward spiraling prices I've found it easy to walk away and quit something altogether. I was collecting all the Spider-Man variant c...

These are BOTH examples of bad storytelling. However, neither of these things originated in the current "post Brand New Day" ASM. Just curious... Did you find Mary Jane essentially sleeping around with that movie star within her character and an example of good storytelling. Now it is in ...

I am reading Spider-man three times a month and that's mediocre at best in my opinion. WOW! I am loving ASM, best Spider-Man since the 80s, in my opinion. Though, if you have liked the stuff done in the last 15 years or so, then I can maybe understand, as there seems to be a definite different feel...

Four books that I don't currently read. So, I guess I'm okay with that.

And heck, if they published a book I did read twice a month (and it kept the same creative team)...I'd be okay with that. I am reading Spider-man three times a month and that's mediocre at best in my opinion.

Marvel Essentials - Buyer FYI

I was shopping at Borders with a 40% coupon and came across the recently released Essential Spider-man volume 9. I couldn't resist and took it to the front for purchase. Imagine my pleasant surprise to flip the book and see that the Borders tag read $16.99 instead of $19.99 (which is list on the boo...

$3.99 Further Experimentation?

I didn't see this brought up in the threads, but if it has and I missed it, please disregard. While browsing the web to check out comics shipping this week, something caught my eye. Amazing Spider-man 598 was listed in both the direct and newsstand edition. The difference...exactly $1. Turns out the...

Re: Buying books on Amazon

For all those who have purchased books from Amazon, how would you rate your experience? How's the condition of the books when you receive them? I love their discounted prices but lately, their "Brand New" books have been anything but "Brand New". The Hellboy library editions I r...

It quite interesting to hear peoples LCS experience today. Here's mine to add to the list. My LCS opens around 9am. I ended up waiting until lunchtime to head over. I get my weekly comics and while I did get Amazing Spider-man, I didn't get the Obama cover. Didn't matter much to me. We've see this s...

I was looking at Torpedo's Monolith section and saw some stuff I'm interested in. Is there a set condition that these books are in or do they vary?

Any insight from someone that's purchased books from this category would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

While not a March solicitation...something caught my attention that made me take pause. Slated for release in June (according to Comic Shop News) is "The Flash Presents Mercury Falling TPB - collecting Impulse 62 to 67. Might this mean the return of Max Mercury or Bart Allen. I figure that stor...

HA! I always found their site terrible in regards to look and feel. Your comment does some it up well.
