This year's Amazing Comic Con looks like it is going to be huge!

In the last week, almost every day, the guest list has been growing.

It's a great time to be a comic book fan in Hawaii because we finally got our own comic book convention.

I'm actually considering flying over to this con since I went to the UHM and haven't been to Hawaii for a couple of years. Hm...it fits in right during my "vacation"...now if only I can budget it in (con ticket, hotel, flight, etc). Tickets went on sale today, I think?

Dear Drew,

No, the Amazing Hawaii Comic Con and Comic Con Honolulu are two separate comic conventions on Oahu. I'm sorry about the confusion.

I know Amazing Comic Con Hawaii organizers are from the mainland. They also organize the Amazing Comic Con Las Vegas.

Comic Con Honolulu organizers, I think, are from Hawaii. And, I think, this is the convention's third or fourth year.

We have a total of FIVE comic/anime/pop culture conventions in the islands

1) Kawaii Kon (Focus is on Anime) next weekend, April 7th to April 9th (Oahu)
This one has been going on, I think, 10 years strong.

2) Comic Con Hawaii in July (Oahu)

3) Amazing Hawaii Comic Con in August (Oahu)

4) The Hawaii Con on the Big Island (one of the neighboring islands) in September.
This one has been around for the last five years.
They seems to draw some star power. Last year Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: TNG) was there. This year they got some stars from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (James Marsters, Nicholas Brendon, and Amber Benson)

5) The Maui Comic Con (Maui)
They just started last year. And it maybe growing because it's on the beautiful island of Maui.

I will be creating different threads for the Hawaii Con and the Maui Comic Con as I get more information.

For me, this is a great time to be a comic book/pop culture fan in Hawaii with our own comic book/pop culture conventions. And it's great that the Amazing Comic Con organizers came to Hawaii to bring down big name stars that me and other comic book/pop culture geeks may have to go the the mainland to see if we have the opportunity.

To me, it creates a good competition among convention organizers to see who they can bring down. For Example, Bob Layton is coming to Comic Con Hawaii. I got a couple of comics for him to sign and I want to personally thank him for getting me hooked on Iron Man.

Again, it's a great time to be a comic book/pop culture fan in Hawaii.

That's pretty cool she's coming to the Comic Con Honolulu. Especially, right after San Diego.

I think more guest will be added to Amazing Comic Con and Comic Con Honolulu in the up coming months. I'll keep you guys posted.

The Amazing Comic Con organizers just wrapped up their Amazing! Las Vegas Comic Con. And now they are focusing on the Amazing! Hawaii Comic Con.

The organizers will be making more big announcements this week regarding guests they will be adding to the con. There will be (according to their website) offering New Tickets/VIP Offerings/Premiums that will go on sale to the general public starting Wednesday, 7/5/17.
