Protecting Trade Paperbacks?
Even though I have been collecting comics off and on since I was six, I just started dabbling in the trades. Is there any certain way to protect them? I have three little kids, so just leaving them on a bookcase to display is not a good idea for me. Are there special bags and boards made for trades? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I used to bag my trades, but I don't any more (but I don't have any little kids or pets in the house any more either, so I can understand someone who does.....)
Some trades will fit in a silver age bag, but some are too big for that. For the larger trades, you may need to move up to:
* Magazine bags - I used to put all my Marvel & Warren mags (like Savage Sword of Conan & Vampirella) & Graphic Novels into these. 8 7/8" x 11"

* Treasury bags - These were made to hold those GIANT Marvel & DC Treasury Edition comics. I can't seem to find an on-line retailer that has these for a decent price, but I found one with "Life Magazine" bags that are 11 1/8" x 15 1/8" (even better, as treasury bags are 10-3/8 x 14-1/4)

My store does the same thing and i remembered asking them what bags they used.Webhead wrote:DITTO on the silver age bags. My LCS places all the trades in these bags to help protect them while they sit on the shelves.
The biggest trade that could be put into one that I saw was The Original Crow series.
I've seen my LCS put some Essentials in bags, they a a pain to get in and out when they are that size.Lord Shaper wrote:My store does the same thing and i remembered asking them what bags they used.Webhead wrote:DITTO on the silver age bags. What is the best way for trades to sit on a shelf, vertical or horizontal? Should they be tight up against a bookend? I've been buying a lot of trades lately and I would like to come back to read these some years down the road. I've noticed some of my paperback books will start to bend after some years vertical on a shelf.
