Previews Spotlight #065 (Mar->May): Mar 8th, 5pm pacific

Previews should be coming out on Weds Feb 27th, which means the Previews call will be on Friday Mar 8th at 5pm Pacific / 6pm Mountain / 7pm Central / 8pm Eastern.

Submissions for the Previews Spotlight #065 show should be in by Saturday Mar 9th.

As always, get on Skype around the start time (or join any time after, the call can run 4 hours of rousing comics chat) and look for BobBretall or theJohnMayo & message to get joined into the call.

Of course you can start sending in submissions as soon as you have them done. Sending them in early is appreciated as it give us more time to organize the clips and plan out the episode.

Discuss any of the new comics AND call dibs on reviewing any particular comic on this thread.

Remember: We encourage anyone to send in a short audio clip where they can talk about any book that's coming out in the upcoming Previews that they are really excited about. The email address to send the clips to is TheGuys@ComicBookPage.com. (Some people were only send them to either just John or just Bob and we both need to get them to prepare to recording the episode. By using TheGuys email address, the email goes to both Bob and John.)

PLEASE: Each featured item should be in a separate audio file.

If possible, please follow the naming convention of:
p###-[M###-]ItemName-YourName.mp3

p###-: the page number in Previews (ex: an item on page 80 would start with p080-
M###-: If the item is in the Marvel Previews, use the first even page number in Previews for Marvel with the page number in the Marvel Previews.
If the item is not in the Marvel Previews, skip the M###- part of the file naming convention.
ItemName: This is the name of the item, all we need is enough to determine which item on the page it is.
YourName: All we need here is enough to properly credit you before we play the clip in the episode.
Please do not include spaces in the filename. Not all of the tools we use to prep the clips for the episode handle spaces in filenames gracefully.

At the very least, please include the full name of the item in the filename so we can be sure it gets listed properly in the show notes. If you don't know the page number, that is fine. Just leave it off. But having the full name of the item the clip is for makes it much easier for us to organize the files and prepare for recording the episode.

I picked up Talon #0, 1, 2 in a $1 bin & enjoyed them. I was just about ready to add Talon to my pull list when I saw this solicit:

Interesting that they're doing ZERO issues for A&A and Shadowman. Looks like interesting subject matter. I'm also glad they're doing these instead of the regular issues for the month instead of in addition to.

My general Marvel interest is growing ...

Mine as well, and surprisingly, not just in the style of books I usually enjoy, street level heroes - Dardevil, Hawk'guy and the like, but to the more cosmic side. I have always enjoyed the Adam Warlock, Mar-Vell and other cosmic stories of my youth, and Marvel is bringing me back into that side of the MU. Really excited about it.

Same. Started with about 27 titles, down to Batman. That's it.

Well, I keep sampling it but it never manages to hold onto me for more than a few issues. Longest recent run was the last reboot of X-Men with the vampires storyline, I stuck with that for about 6 issues.

I'm the same. It has just gotten too big in scale for me, a casual reader who has not read any X-books continuously for about 15 or 20 years, to keep track of.

I will say that the New X-Men (Bendis on old x-men) has been fairly enjoyable (reading a friends copy) but I think that is almost solely due to me feeling more like the younger (older) team inside ... trying to figure out what's going on.
