Bob, you don't like mystic stories, yet Zatanna is one of your favorites characters correct?

It's not that I don't like mystical stories, I guess, it's that I don't like mystical stories mixed up with regular super-heroes.
I liked Shadowpact just fine, for instance. Mystical heroes fighting mystical menaces.
I don't really care for Superman, etc. mixing it up with the likes of Neron & Lord Satannus.
Zatanna, for the most part in her career has not been heavy on the "mystical". Sure, she says spells (well, not really spells, she says what she wants to happen backwards). She seems to work fine in a super-hero context because they are not usually mixing in lots of weird underworld stuff with her. Plus she is a hot chick who wears fishnet stockings, so that goes a long way.
So, if there was a Zatanna story that really got mystical-magical, I'd probably be OK as long as she was not teamed up with Hal Jordan the whole time. It really seems to be the mixture of mainstream super-heroes with magic that bugs me.
PS: I liked the backup of Trinity #2, but the main story still left me totally cold.

While I enjoyed Trinity #2, I felt that they did a poor job of resetting the scenes at the beginning of the main story. They just pick up on the action with Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman each where things left off last issue. Meanwhile a week has passed for me and I've read another few dozen comics, including ones with Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman in them. I'd like it if they would re-establishing what is going on a bit better.JLAFan wrote: PS: I liked the backup of Trinity #2, but the main story still left me totally cold.
That having been said, the backup was really good with issue.
