This is awfully close to my new self-imposed $200 limit, so likely a few things will get cut. Especially with the big two I'm thinking of moving things into hc/tpb, at least on titles where I'm pretty certain they don't need the sales help on individual issues(i.e. Manhunter will stay as a single). Also thinking of just picking up Trinity in stores, but the discount, especially with the ComicBloc code, is almost too good to pass on ordering from DCBS.

I guess the problem was reading the story (which was dense) with the month or so gaps between issues. I read too much stuff to keep a story like that straight through the time gaps. If I'm going to hold all the issues to read at once, I may as well just get the trade.

Interesting point about binding all the Hickman projects into a single HC. I could always wait a year or so & buy the singles from a bin at a convention.

Well, I am entitled to travel home at company expense every other week, but I just don't see the point to spending two days of traveling for at most two days at home. And this has been unusual, as it's been 4 or 5 separate projects (I've lost count at this point) with one more to go before I actually get to work at home for at least the month of June. (Of course, now that I've said that, my schedule will probably get changed again.)

I do find it is kind of a guessing game as to what should be bought in trades and what should be bought in singles. I agree that more comics tend to add things to the trade, but sometimes those are things I really don't care much about (like the sketchbook you mentioned). And then there are items like Casanova and Wasteland where there is either back material or entire issues that don't make it into the trades. Generally I find it is easier for me to buy the trade if they add something to it that makes it worth it to me than it is to go back and get all the singles if I wait for the trade and find out it's missing something. And catching the binding bug also leans me more towards issues - although not so much with the big two who are releasing a lot of material in hc now days anyway.

Of course one problem is just never knowing what companies are going to do in the future. One of the items on my list for this month (SCUD: The Whole Shebang) may get cut simply because I have the entire run and may bind myself. Actually, if I'd known they were going to be putting this out (especially with the limited print to order HC version), I wouldn't have ordered the recent four issues and just waited for this. Now I'm caught weighing whether it's worth ordering as a tpb, as the hc, or binding it myself for $15 to $30.
