Hey Guys,

I've been voraciously catching up on all of your podcasts, ranging from about October to the first of April. I have to say, I'm very impressed!

John, I wrote to you a while ago with some constructive feedback and offered you my support in your ongoing pursuit of making the best Comic podcast possible. My friend, I can't believe how far you've come! Please don't take that as a negative, because I'm really just trying to tell you guys how great your show is.

Bob is the perfect foil for you, John. You guys have similar enough viewpoints that there is an evident comraderie, however, there are enough instances where you diverge so that things can remain interesting.

Sure there's some minutia in terms of constructive feedback I'll shoot at ya guys via private e-mail, but you have the best comic podcast I've heard yet...maybe Siuntres is has a bit of an edge due to celebrity factor...I'm just talking out loud here.

Anyway, the dicussion you guys had regarding online ordering vs LCS totally made me want to sign up for your forum. You have such passion for the subject that it lets me know that you truly care about comics. Your viewpoints were spot-on and It's made me REALLY start to re-evaluate my LCS and why I'm hesistant to move to 100% online ordering. I definitely go online for my trades and for monthly DCBS door busters, but why not go that extra mile?

In conclusion, you guys are doing an incredible job and I will continue to listen. I'm hopeful to be an online presence in your forum and have a chance to interact with you guys. Living in San Diego, I'm not too far from Bob. Bob, I heard you talk about the weekly comic show up in the LA area...do you think it's worth checking out? I was thinking that if I combo'd it with a Shrine convention, it may be worth the drive.

Hi Mike, I look forward to any feedback you'd care to send via e-mail, we are always looking for ways to improve, and have acted on feedback in the past, where possible & feasible.

Re: Switching from LCS -> on-line. This is something I myself thought long & hard about before making the switch. Factors such as how much you spend in a month, discount at your LCS, camaraderie/service at your LCS, distance you need to travel to the LCS (given gas costs are so high), and your desire to have books immediately when they come out all factor into the decision, among others I may have missed here.

If you ever want to chat about it, let us know, we can find a time to chat on Skype.

Re: Frank & Son show in the LA Area. It's a pretty good show, you can check them out here: http://www.fs-collectibles.com/

I'm glad you think that the podcast has improved. I think that with something like this there is always room to improve and Bob and I are constantly trying to grow the show and make it as enjoyable and useful to people as possible.

And I agree that Bob is an excellent cohost. I really enjoy talking comics with him as it is fun, particularly when he points out something I missed in the story. So far, the only "downside" to having Bob as the cohost is that my comic book spending is up. Which is fine expect for the size of my back issue "to read" pile is now over 1,000 comics. I "blame" Bob for most of that...

Please send and constructive feedback you have to use in email as I know there are a few areas I still need to work on.

Personally, I really enjoyed recording the Online Ordering episode with Ian and company for Comic Timing (and I highly recommend Ian's podcast as he runs some of the best round table discussions on comics). It is certainly a hot button topic. I just wish that is wasn't usually put as an either-or situation. Both Bob and I drop as much or more money at local shops than many "LCS only" comic book readers and we do that on top of what we get from DCBS. While I think supporting local shops is very important, I'm not going to spend the extra $60 a week to support a local shop when I can get my comics cheaper and easier from DCBS. It just doesn't make financial sense to do so.

While I no longer live in San Diego, I still make it out there every year for the convention. When it gets closer to the convention we should start a thread and organize dinner plans for one of the evenings during the convention.
