So John and Bob have talked these up enough that I put them on my pull list. So I thought I start a thread here writing out my thoughts as I get each new series.
First one I got was Neozoic and I must say even though I am jumping in on issue #3 this was a good issue. For one there was a recap page much like Marvel does on their titles letting you know what happen before. After reading I think there are a couple of minor details that I had questions on but nothing that prevented me from understanding the story. I will definitely be seeking out the previous two issues of this.
I don't know how well the story was written in the first two issues but number three had good action scenes from the city defending itself from the dinosaurs to political intrigue of the king trying to protect the city and his family.

Little late in posting this but I have been traveling lately and it has prevented me from sitting down and posting my thoughts.
Atomic Robo #6 - John and Bob told me I should just wait for the trade since several issues had shipped by now but I thought I try it anyway. Not the first time I have bought the last issue of a series. As I mention before for Neozoic, there was the recap page on the inside cover. It covered enough that I wasn't confused by what the story was about. The story was humorous and enough action that I really want to buy the next series and either get the trade of find the back issues to see how it lend up to #6.

Next is Afterburn #1 & 2 - Surprised that Diamond actually shipped a back issue to my LCS I ended up with first and second issue of this series. This series is about a post apocalyptic world with a mercenary/treasure hunter-for-hire as our main protagonists.
I am really glad I got #1, because if I had jumped on with #2 I would of been lost even with the recap page. The first issue was cliche and boring to me that I really didn't finish it and went on to #2 hoping it was going to get better.
The second issue was better in only that there was some intrigue introduced by the second half of the issue.
I feel ambivalent to this series at the moment and I am on the fence on whether or not I want to drop the series or continue in hopes that it will get better as the creative team finds their footing on how to write a comic book.
This series is being written Paul Ens and Scott Chitwood, founders of Red 5 comics. Tobey Maguire and Neal Moritz have bought the movie rights and will be producing the film through their respective production companies.
