The Other DC Rebirth

Post by doctormo »

DC has announced a retooling of the Hanna-Barbera characters - http://www.comicbookresources.com/artic ... haner-more or http://www.ew.com/2016/01/28/dc-enterta ... era-titles.

Only some of the creative teams were announced. There are some interesting choices listed. Didio stated on Twitter that this not the 'rebirth' they were alluding to last week. I think this line will inject some new competition into the 'All Ages' category at the end of the year.

I'm interested to see the reader's reaction if DC does end up doing another reboot or re-numbering.

I'm sure there will be a lot of complaining, but will that translate to lower sales or ordering from retailers? We'll have to wait and see.

I was interested in some of these all ages books. However, the Scooby one is a little odd. Scooby Doo Team Up and Scooby Doo Where are You? are both going and feature classic Scooby and the gang. Sholly Fisch writes both and he does a great job in my opinion. I have been meaning to read more of the regular Scooby Doo Where are You? title. Team Up is fantastic.

Amanda Conner's Flintstones designs are strange to me. Only because I love the original designs of the characters. But I can understand DC wanting to modernize them a bit. Kids can't watch Flintstones anymore unless they have the DVD's or have the Boomerang channel I believe.

The ones I may get though is Space Ghost and Jonny Quest in Future Quest and the Wacky Races title. I was a big fan of Wacky Races before. I have the DVD's and love em.

As for the other DC rebirth, who knows.

Future Quest looks interesting. I might get that one.

Might give Scooby: Apocalypse a try...really liked Afterlife with Archie, maybe they'll be similar.

I think Afterlife must have been quietly canceled.
