Disappointing DCBS box

Post by drew »

received my first DCBS shipment today, minus hawkeye, revival and a batman variant,

for those of you who have been using them awhile is this common? do they ever fill those orders or just refund your $ and say tough luck kid?

I've never had a single problem with DCBS in the years I've been a customer. Did you go to your account and see "status" of these missing items.?

I've gotten nearly 500 weekly shipments from DCBS and have rarely ever had any problems. The few that have happened were quickly fixed. I wouldn't kept using them if I had problems.

Can't say to the regular comics being missing, but I've not had good luck with DCBS on ordering variant covers that are 1:10, 1:25, etc. I used to order these and had a poor success rate (if they don't have enough they will theoretically fill orders in order they were originally placed). Anyway, after being left to hang on 2 or 3 variants I stopped ordering them.

Other than that I've had pretty excellent accuracy over the past 6+ years. I can't recall the last pick error & the comic shop I used before I switched to DCBS would have pick errors on my pull box every single month.

you should check your Order on the site to see if the missing books are in the order. And also check "Unshipped Items" to make sure they're there. If they are, you should get it eventually. It's possible that you placed your order late and they weren't able to get it into the shipment you just received.

I echo everyone else who's had basically zero problems with dcbs over the past 5 or so years i've been using them.

i wonder if i need to make arrangements to get them somewhere else, wait for them to be filled eventually or just ask for a refund for the unshipped items since they already charged my card for the full order

Have you emailed them? Maybe they got shorted by Diamond and have more copies coming. You won't know until you ask.

Yes, or at least, as Lenny suggested, checked your "UNSHIPPED ITEMS" list to see if they just didn't make this order? Not like DCBS to just ignore an order request (other than what Bob was saying about the variant issue)

Even with the variants, they didn't ignore me, I just did not get them as ordered. When I sent them an e-mail about them they told me I was SOL.

I've never gotten that sort of email from DCBS. I've always found them to be friendly and helpful.

I have been a very happy customer since 2006. I have had a few books missing maybe once or twice in that entire time. They rectified the situation immediately. One time I had a broken statue and they replaced it. I find there customer service to be better then any comic shop I have visited ever.

I wonder if you just have those books in your unshipped items listed because they have not shipped or that you added them to your list late after they had already pre-ordered and sold out. Let us know because I am interested.

I was, of course paraphrasing. The actual e-mail was very diplomatic, something like: "We're very sorry to inform you that there was a greater demand for variant-comic-X than we anticipated and our orders were not high enough to fill all orders. We have filled order in the order they were placed and you will be credited for the book."

The real problem was they didn't proactively tell me this the week the book came out when there was still a decent chance I could pick it up at the LCS, maybe they figured they might get some on re-orders or something but they never did.

Bottom line was after a few times of not getting a variant I ordered I stopped bothering.

Recently there has been a variant cover or two they could not get for me. I got an email informing me that was the case and asking if I'd like the regular cover. Since the contents are more important to me than the cover, that was fine. But I can understand if it was the specific cover someone was interested in how that might not be okay for everyone.
