Would love to see that supergirl. I got one from Jamal at Baltimore a few years ago right before the first issue of his run came out. Might be cool to see how his concept of her has evolved.

Awesome! I love the Zatana one and the Tony Parker sketch was amazing! I am not an original art / sketch guy (except for the ocassional freebies with DCBS stuff) but i am almost temptedto track Tony parker down and buy one. That was amazing!
Thanks for sharing Boob! (oops sorry Bob, still thinking about the Zatanna sketch

)

It was a heck of a good time and I owe Bob big time for watching over the table so I could sneak out and get a Todd Nyauk sketch (Kyle Rayner) for my Green Lantern sketchbook.
Flint and I made enough cash to promptly turn it over to the Con for our table next year, plus enough left over to do some serious shopping (well, I did anyhow).
* Joel Gomez page of The Engineer from Authority:The Lost Year
* Marat Mychaels page from Crossgen's The First (for $10!!!)
* All four KISS Potato Heads (don't judge...I collect 'em)
* A ton o' trades (mainly Exiles)
My painting (Dex-Star, the Red Lantern kitty) sold for $50 at auction (which is about $49.99 more than I figured it'd get!). I was really floored that it went for what it did, and it gave me the confidence to do more for next year's Con.
Flint and I learned a lot: Business cards (duh!), do some prints of your really good stuff (double duh!), get stuff in the background of your booth (triple duh!), but we did a lot right as well. People responded well to free sketch cards with an issue of Dedlock (I sold about 20 issues...not bad for a total indie book nobody'd heard of!)
The Con itself definitely experienced some growing pains but I think they were the good kind of pains to have. Paying for parking was horrible for local commuters, when the Mesa location had free parking, but the larger size, more stuff to do downtown, and general atmosphere seemed to indicate things are moving in the right direction. It's not the new San Diego, and never will be, and I don't think we want it to be. That said, I think it's a Con to keep your eyes on.
I may be biased, though.

No doubt Bob will promote this, but thanks again for having me, Dave B. and Lin on the podcast to go over the fun that was and is the Phoenix Con.
We all learned a lot: Lin knows a bit more than a guy should about General Hospital, apparently Carmine Infantino is NOT dead (like I thought he was), and I learned the Genie Francis connection to comic book/Star Trek nerd-dom (when you listen, I question what the heck she was doing there, being a soap opera star...Dave hipped me to the truth!

)
Hopefully you'll come away with the impression that Phoenix is really carving a nice niche for itself as a con that's truly unique among smaller conventions.
