DC's executive editor Dan DiDio and Wildstorm editorial director Jim Lee have been appointed co-publishers of the company, Nelson said. Meanwhile, current "Green Lantern" writer Geoff Johns was named the company's Chief Creative Officer.
I think it's an incredible opportunity for Johns to unify and focus the DCU, not just in comics, but in other media. The only thing I can think to compare it to is Stan Lee's role at Marvel in the late 60s and early 70s. Realistically, Johns will probably not have as much time available to write comics. But hopefully the overall quality of DC comics will rise to make up for it. I also hope DC can nurture some new talent. They haven't really had a breakout writer in several years.
