We'll be meeting up after the Podcasting panel on Thursday.

6:30pm outside Room 32AB

Dinner will be someplace that John can eat & not subsequently die. He can post suggested restaurants to this thread......

Interested in joining us? Say so here!

I'm good with anything that can provide gluten-free/casein-free food. I don't really have a list of restaurants.

I'm in. Wife may be with me.

What places do you usually eat at in SD, John?

How about the Tilted Kilt?

We're planning on meeting there after Preview Night but, because it is close, two days in a row ain't bad.

The Rock Bottom Brewery two years ago did okay with Gluten-free food, didn't they, John?

I survived the Titled Kilt last year but had to send the food back at least once before it was safe.

If I recall correctly, optioned were limited at Rock Bottom but did exist.

lots of good options here:

The CGS meetup is at Tilted Kilt on Wed, I think. Not sure if I'm going to that yet, due to content. My wife will be with me and 7 months pregnant at the time -- not sure how well it will play with her. Would be cool to go someplace relatively family friendly.

In any case, if I do end up at Tilted Kilt, it will likely be only once during the con. No way I could pull it off twice :)

The Tilted Kilt isn't so bad for a family-friendly atmosphere. I plan on bringing my girlfriend.

I'm no longer a part of that community, so I'm not going to go to their meetup. (By the way, this is in no way a knock on that community, it contains a LOT of great people, I LOVED my time spent there, but I did leave it behind it for personal reasons some time ago.)

That said, the Tilted Kilt is pretty much your standard brew-pub, there's nothing particularly objectionable about it, you should be fine bringing your wife there, Trev. So, bottom line is that if you're a member of that community, I'd encourage you to spend time with your on-line friends from it at the Tilted Kilt!!!

Also, given that there is another Podcast community meetup at the Tilted Kilt on Wed, we'll make sure we do ours somewhere else so that people going to both can have dinner in different spots on the 2 nights.

Girlfriend and pregnant wife are two different things, but I appreciate the vote of confidence.

BTW, Pants is the only CGSer attending San Diego this year, Bob. (Sorry to hear you've stepped away from that community)

I have not had time to figure out any options so I'm open to suggestions.

If the head count is small, we can probably just walk up to the Rock Bottom. Larger groups, and a reservation is a good idea. They were very helpful two years ago when I organized the meet up dinner there.

(And getting a head count is sometimes like herding cats!!)

Anyone interested in the Green Lantern animated movie that night? Starts at 8pm. I'm fine missing it in favor of having a longer enjoyable dinner with friends (and the DVD will be released after the con) but going to these showings with friends is fun too.

I haven't decided yet. Right now my bias is toward no, simply bec. it is coming out on DVD and should be pretty easy to see. I might revisit that decision if the buzz is off the charts.
