Was at WW Philly on Saturday.
Had breakfast at the Round The Clock Diner and then off to the con.
Got into the con pretty quickly, it was cool to see alot of people dressed up (never seen this before). Some were MUCH better then others.
First thing I did when I got into the show was get my picture taken with Sarge from Halo.
Spent the good bit of the morning just walking around making note of the $5.00 trade tables and $1.00 bins.
It was actually smaller then I was expecting but from what I was told it was alot smaller then previous years.
For $50.00 I picked up 15 comics (mostly $1.00 books, some $2.00) and 5 trades (USM vol. 1 & 2, Essentials of Silver Surfer vol. 1 and Tomb of Dracula vol.1 and The Kents tpb (Ostrader and Truman 12 issue Western book).
I spent most of my afternoon in artist alley. I picked up Jonah Hex no. 1 in hopes of having Jimmy P sign it but he was gone when I got back from lunch and wasn't back before I left so that kind of stunk.
I was hoping to get a few sketches but only 1 artist was doing free sketches as far as I could tell and that was Ian Glaubinger. He ended up doing a very cartoony Silver Surfer but it was really cool since it was my first ever sketch. I also picked up a postcard size colored sketch he did of Indiana Jones for $2.00 for my wife.
Kevin Maguire was another artist I wanted to see because I am loving Batman Confidential but he was charging $100 for a head sketch so that was obviously out.
Overall I really enjoyed the day. The time with friends, the train rides into Philly and home and also the breakfast at the diner.
Next year I believe that our little group is thinking of doing Baltimore instead of Philly as that is just about comics and wont have the video game and all the other stuff there.
I dont remember seeing a Marvel or DC booth there at all. I didnt really see any updates on Newsarama all weekend as well as it seems everyone was at Heroes Con for the most part.
Anyways, thats my report. It was a fun and mermorable day.
