Another good episode guys, keep the weekly spotlights coming! Some of my thoughts on the issues you guys discussed: Flash #232 - I really don't like the kids. I don't know if it's just me, but I find them to be annoying. I love Mark Waid's writing though. The scene where Wally learned how to create a larger version of the de-hydration device was classic Flash. Not the biggest fan of Daniel Acuna's art, but I don't hate it either. Still going to see where this book goes. Marvel Comics Presents - Didn't pick it up for monetary reasons, but I am intrigued about the Guardian story after reading Omega Flight, so if that is collected in a trade, I'll pick it up. Intergalactic - never heard of it before the show, sounds like a good read though.

Now I want to bring something up from last episode, JLA. I got #13 and couldn't believe it, but it was part 2 of a storyarc, a storyarc I'm guessing began in the JLA Wedding Special. Why? Why not just publish the special as JLA #13 and the McDuffie's first "real" JLA issue as #14? I'll be reordering the special so I can read the arc from the beginning, but I wish I could have just ordered JLA without needing to see if a special was out that would matter. This will also be my final arc of JLA. I want to like this title, I really do. I mean it's the Justice League of America. And I think the only reason I bought it was because it was the JLA, THE team of the DC Universe and I figured that it would get good once Meltzer hit his stride. Sadly, that didn't happen for me. The only issues I really enjoyed were 7 and the Lightning Saga issues. I ordered issue #13 as it was the first issue for a new writer and I wasn't as thrilled as everyone else seemed to be. As oppossed to the 9 issues of JSA I've read, all of which I've loved and is my favorite DC title. So I guess for me, the JSA is really the premier team of the DC Universe and the JLA is...well, I don't know...

There are JSA people & JLA people. I'm a JLA fan (obviously)...... JSA is always secondary for me, just like JLA is secondary (or tertiary...) for you.

I think it boils down to the characters for me. I've always preferred the characters in JLA (when the series has at least a decent number of the "original 7" on board). Probably why I was not a huge fan of JLA during the Detroit era, or of the "Bwah-ha-ha" era.

I liked the "Bwah-ha-ha" stuff as standalone stories, they were amusing, and I loved the art, it was just not "my" Justice League. They were a bunch of folks using that name.

I loved the later part of the satellite era JLA and I loved the RoyThomas Earth-2 era of the JSA but just went crazy over the annual JLA/JSA team ups. The was a lot of why the Lightning Saga really worked for me. It was a classic JLA/JSA team up the likes of which we haven't seen in decades.

JSA is doing great with Geoff Johns as the writer and I hope he stays on the book for years to come.

Meltzer did okay on JLA but wasn't brilliant. McDuffie is off to a strong start and I think this could be the start of a great run on the title.

Koete, pick up the JLA Wedding Special before dropping the title. I think it showed just how well McDuffie can balance the character moments and the action scenes. But, if the title isn't working for you, by all means, find one that is. Not every title is right for every reader.


As for the Flash's kids, I'd love to see them get their own miniseries. That way I could enjoy seeing what Waid has planned for them and still have the Flash as the star of his own title.
