I went for the pricey stuff at steep discounts, but they have lots of other DH stuff at really good discounts. Make sure you look in both the "Dark Hose Books" and "Dark Horse Merchandise" sections under their QuickLinks -> Discounts & Sales section.

If you sign up for their newsletter, they will send you a coupon code good for free shipping on any order over $35 (or $10 off shipping for international customers).

Those are some good deals! I didn't know the Give Me Liberty HC had even been solicited yet.

The TFAW booth is one of my favorite place to look for deals on trades every year at the Emerald City ComiCon. The selection is pretty random, but everything there is 50% off.

edit: I was confused about the Give Me Liberty HC. I thought you were referring to the upcoming Martha Washington Omnibus that has been talked about.

The core "Give Me Liberty" was far superior to any of it's sequels, in my opinion. I'll probably be cool just getting this, and skipping the Omnibus.

I totally agree on your thoughts about "Give Me Liberty". It should have been left alone after the original series.

TFAW is having a sale all month long, its called Omnibus month. Each day they are going to have a different omnibus discounted. This is my lcbs and they have 3 stores in the area. If your ever in Portland, check them out.

I've been to the TFAW on Sandy Bl in Portland, and I'm afraid (while they have good web deals) this store fell into my "soul-less corporate store" category.

While I was in the store, a guy came in and asked about Rom, none of the people working there had ever heard of it, and did not even take the step of maybe (I don't know) looking it up!!! They have Overstreet guides in the store! They could at least told him it was a Marvel series and they years it was out.

In any event, don't want to knock your local store too much, Jason, but I've been in better. In Portland itself, I thought Cosmic Monkey & Excalibur were both WAY better than TFAW.

I enjoyed them for what they were but agree that none of the subsequent series are up to the quality standard of the original. I guess Frank Miller just isn't very good with sequels. It seems like aside from Sin City, he can't take anything seriously after the initial series. Dark Knight Strikes Again, anyone?
