Up a bit on "Big 2", my DC is still high this month since I'll be sampling all 52 titles again due to the DCBS package deal. Pre-ordering #3s will depend on what deal they entice me with next month...... At some point I assume I'll be dropping about 25-40% of the DC books. I'm sampling some new Marvel #1s, plus I got doubled up on some titles I do get, so I'm up a bit there this month too.

Marvel is doing stuff more in line (I believe) with the Disney movie coming out next year. More all-ages friendly than the Dynamite stuff (e.g. Dejah Thoris will be wearing a LOT more clothing...) which is good or bad depending on your POV.

While I like John Carter, I'm going to stick with just the main 2 Dynamite series. Personally, I can skip a Disney-fied version of JC.

Removing the Wally Wood Artist's Edition from my pre-order based on notice from DCBS about new price:

I sent an e-mail to IDW to confirm the Wally Wood price and discount and they said that Previews is correct. The $95 price is actually the price that retailers have to pay. The DCBS price is going to be $118.75. IDW has sent a correction to Diamond. We apologize for the problem.

So it's not going to be cheap after all. $118.75 is a mere 5% discount.....

Heh. I'm in-between a rock and a hard place on that one. My wife sees the Dynamite covers and is like "Does anyone wear clothes on Mars?" (To which my, and the obvious, reply is "No!" ). So who knows, she may actually be more behind the "clothed" version of JC and co. I'm trying to keep her interest up so she'll go see the movie with me next year.

Ended up pulling all the manga except for Yotsuba. I'm giving those other three books a try out and it's silly to buy the second volume for a series you haven't read the first part of. I can always go back later and pick up the ones I really dug.

I see that 2000AD will now be available weekly in the US. At $5 for 32 pages surely it is doomed for failure. I thought they would have priced it lower to get a foot in the door.

I'm adding Orchid from Dark Horse and Xenoholics from Image. Orchid because I'm a big Rage fan and it's only .50 from DCBS and Xenoholics looks like fun and definitely something different from what I usually read. I did take Marksmen off my order. I liked it, but just not enough where I'm excited about it. The art, the characters, the concept... just didn't move me.
