I love Fred Hembeck.....

I don't know if there are any other Hembeck fans out there, but I've been a big fan of his for a LOOOONG time. That's why I was tickled to find that he's lately been selling some nifty sketches on eBay. (See for yourself what he has up currently by checking out http://myworld.ebay.com/fredhembeck/ and clicking on the "Items for Sale" line on the left side of the page.

Here are the ones I've got ahold of so far (they set me back ~$40 each and are on 11x14 bristol).

I got the original JLA lineup about 6 months ago.....
but picked up the Original Avengers line-up & Spider-Man vs. the Sinister Six just today.....

awesome stuff. I wonder if he will be at San Diego. Would love to get a commission from him -- I loved the marvel issues he did when I was a kid.

He had a punisher up a month or so ago but it went for way more than I wanted to spend. One day I'll grab one!!!

There's a good interview with him on a recent Comics on Comics podcast. I met him in the 1980s at some cons as he was a local comics legend.

In the interview he says he's never been to the West Coast, so a San Diego appearance is out, since he doesn't like to fly.
