Agreed. Yet another zombie book but has a different enough feel that it didn't feel derivative. I liked it.

Is it more like Walking Dead or Crossed? I love Walking Dead but didn't really like Crossed, probably because it was a little too messed up for me (I only read the first one or two issues). If I like Walking Dead and most things zombie, should I pick this up?

More Walking Dead, but not LIKE WD, if you get my drift. Crossed, to me, is characterized by being really twisted for the sake of shock value. Key of Z is not like that.

Yeah, I don't even remember zombies being in Key of Z that much. It's character driven with zombies/apocalypse as a backdrop ... which actually is what the first Crossed was to me, except when the violence did happen it was, as Bob said, shock value stuff.
It's a 4 issue mini-series though if that matters.

Incredible Hulk #1 - Liked the premise did not like the execution. I am not planning on picking up issue #2 for 3.99.

I think it was the seemingly shock for shock's sake that I didn't like about Crossed. This Key of Z sounds like my kinda book, and with it being a 4-issue mini it means less commitment on my part, so the next time I'm close to a store I'll look for it. Thanks for the input!

Snarked #1 OK, maybe cheating since there was a #0 issue, but I'm loving this all-ages series. It's an interesting story, with amazing characters, and best of all it's funny! All-ages books don't get much better than this - appealing to both adults, and kids. (disclaimer: I haven't shown it to my kids yet so I'm assuming the later.)

Wolverine and the X-men #1 - much better than Hulk but Chris Bachalo's art does not work for me on the X-men. Also can't see Wolverine as a headmaster. (3/5). At 3.99 not going to continue with this.
Legion of Superheroes Secret Origin #1 this is what DC should have opened with as a new #1. Plus it came with a ring. (4/5)

Agreed. This should have been the New 52 Legion of Super-Heroes #1.

I was not really sure what was going on in this issue and I'm not interested in finding out. Silvestri's art was OK, but it seems like I'm not a huge enough fan to buy this for the art alone. He's bailing on the book after #3 anyway. As Mike says, at $3.99, I can easily skip this one.

Spaceman #1 (DC/Vertigo) - Seemed like an interesting world to explore, but the element of style/flavor added by the NuSpeak slang throughout was really distracting to me. I can see someone loving it for exactly this slang which totally turned me off.
Extinction Seed #0 (GG Studios) - I have ZERO idea what the heck was going on, so this was a really poor introductory issue. I like the art & have ordered #1, I'll read that & if I understand what's going on I'll continue on with the series, if not #2 will never get ordered.
Star Wars: Crimson Empire III #1 (Dark Horse) - Paul Gulacy art + Star Wars stuff that has Luke & Leia in it. I'm in.
Dead Man's Run #0 (Aspen) - Hell is a jail & some guys want OUT! Plus art by Tony (DADoES) Parker, this is like a summer action flick with a good translation to the printed page.

Marine Man #1 - I felt like a six year old kid visiting sea world for the first time with my family reading the first two issues of Marineman Loved it 5/5

Avengers 1959 #1 I have been loving New Avengers and Avengers and this group kicked off from New Avengers. I really enjoyed it and will continue with this one.
Six Guns #1 If you liked Diggle's The Losers from Vertigo you will likely enjoy this new series

Garth Ennis's Stitched from Avatar hooked me with issue #1. A modern day war story with a bunch of creepy Stitched up dudes haunting a helicopter unit in Afghanistan. Very creepy book and I am now adding it to my pull list. (4/5)
Chopper #1 from Asylum Press was real surprise about a drug dealing cheerleader and a headless motorcycle killer. (4/5).Another for the pull

I agree, although I'm wondering what my limit is for "zombie-like creatures stalking survivors" stories. Right now we got Walking Dead, Crossed, Key of Z, Stitched .... I'm sure I'm forgetting some too. But hey, if it's good, it's good.
Pilot Season: The Test: I really liked this setup and would love to read more, but I sort of agree with Bob that as a #1 issue it left too much unsaid ... but then again, for a Pilot issue begging for votes, maybe it was perfect? My only concern for this as an ongoing is mystery books seem to be tough to do .... you have to keep giving away stuff but not confusing readers, and it seems like the longer you go the bigger the ending will have to be.
Pilot Season: City of Refuge: This was just as good as Test but was actually a great #1 too. I love the concept and the cliffhanger, and I think this world could have many good stories come out of it.
Pilot Season: Beauty: This was alright, and I'd probably read more, but the ending was baffling. Was I supposed to be shocked? Or care? It seemed like a very mild ending to make me vote for more.
Spaceman: I agree with Bob on this one, the speech was kind of silly. Whenever a story like this has SOME words or grammar be different, I always think it's unnecessary. "I brain it will work" instead of "I think it will work" ... why bother? I'll keep reading a few more but right now it seems kinda boring.
Blood Red Dragon #0, 1: I thought the 0 issue was well done and the ending was great. The bad guys were very cliche though, and the dialogue was so hokey I almost laughed. It was like every 70-80s cartoon bad guy. "I, the ultimate warrior of the dark forces of evil, will unleash my unholy wrath upon the unsuspecting world and they will tremble at the sight of my horrors!!!" Come on .... But I could look past that.
But issue #1 didn't do anything for me, and actually came off as more cliche. It just seems very generic, the art isn't too great and the piano thing was silly. Please don't tell me he has to hit those three notes on the piano to turn into the Dragon .... but I won't find out.
