That's great news! I was hoping that would be the case, but I wasn't counting on it. Now it gives us another month to decide what makes the cut and what doesn't. Reading the comments from the San Diego new 52 panels has increased my interest in a few books that I wasn't sure about getting past #1. Pretty good read. I think the biggest thing, and it was broken down to a few different questions, is just what does the DC past look like now. I really think it's contradictory to renumber Action and Detective with the theory that this will show everyone we're SERIOUS ... yet keep most of the backstory of Batman and Green Lantern.
I've decided to just wait and see what they tell us at the end of Flashpoint and the first few issues of the new titles. If it doesn't make sense THEN, then they didn't do a very good job imo.

None of this seems to hit on anything I REALLY care about.
I don't care if story X or story Y is in continuity.
I could care less if "Team Z" ever existed.
All these details are trifles.
The reason I got excited about this is that it felt like DC was making a big move to wipe out the burden of continuity, and start making good stories that people could easily jump in to, without having to know what has happened for the last 10 years in DC comics.
The more and more I read, the less and less I feel like DC will be making major changes to their approach to storytelling, and more and more like they are gonna do the same old thing they have always done, with a few details different to "mix it up".
I don't care if story X or story Y is in continuity.
I could care less if "Team Z" ever existed.
All these details are trifles.

You know, I agree with this, but in a lot of ways I like more "involved" continuity. It's a tricky thing though, a bit of a double edged sword. There is a fine line between continuity adding to a story, and continuity hindering a story. I can't really explain what defines this difference, it is one of those things where "I know it when I see it".
