Passing on this. Not enough to overcome my hatred of Super-pooper.
The Scott Snyder one that is around the corner ... that one may pull me in. Maybe.

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0
The 7.99 price point was more of an impetus to drop a book that was just kind of so-so for me anyway. Had I been loving the title I would have reluctantly paid the 7.99 but considering my recent enjoyment of the book it just became a great time to jump off and trying something else.BobBretall wrote:Hopefully the $7.99 book won't do more harm than short term gain with more people like you dropping the book. I'll be curious to see the sales on #21 so we can see what happens when they follow up the $7.99 issue and creative team switch not with a new #1 (that has an inherent sales bump associated with it because of the way most people like to buy comics) and instead "just" have an issue #21.Gilgabob wrote:I was actually thinking Venditti would be a good fit for this book before I read the announcement. Overall, it seems like all reasonable fits for these books. The $7.99 book helped to get me to drop GL but I hope Venditti does a good job.
I pre-ordered Jupiter's Legacy and Uber in hopes one (or both) of them catch my fancy.

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0
The 7.99 has made me make a different decision. I enjoy GL enough to pay for it but my budget dictates something has to give. I will be dropping Aquaman to compensate for the 'first lantern' crossover and the higher price point. DC has not been enduring me of late with the endless crossovers. They have forced the basic idea of scarcity and I decided to cut one of their books. Unfortunaetly the 'Throne of Atlantis" crossover killed Aquaman for me. Is DC sacrificing long term sales for the cash now with the 7.99 books and the overwhelming number of crossovers? Maybe.Gilgabob wrote:The 7.99 price point was more of an impetus to drop a book that was just kind of so-so for me anyway. I am looking forward to these two titles as well. May have to drop a few more DC books.Gilgabob wrote:I pre-ordered Jupiter's Legacy and Uber in hopes one (or both) of them catch my fancy.

I thought, because it was coming out in April, that it was an April Fool's joke anyway.Gilgabob wrote:WTF?! DC reconsiders wisdom of placing controversial WTF imprint on April books.

I had been hoping those goofy logos were for the Previews catalog only & would not show up on the actual books.Gilgabob wrote:WTF?! DC reconsiders wisdom of placing controversial WTF imprint on April books.

Assistance from you preview/future gazers, is Green off of Red Hood? He kept me on the book of Roquafort left but the lastest issue has a credit list like an animated movie but no Green. Would be a great time for me to drop the book but I do like his work... Thanks.

Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0
What do people think of "Wrath of the First Lantern"? Just read the 1st 3 parts & I'm seriously underwhelmed.....
Not digging the "let's flash back to alternate ways a character's life could have turned out" story. I'm not intrinsically opposed to this kind of story, but the way it's built into this crossover (built on top of too many other GL crossovers) it's just rubbing me the wrong way.
I was basically thinking "get on with it" the entire time I was reading these comics.

Looks like he's moving to Suicide Squad as that series gets a new writer too:LA Rabbit wrote:Assistance from you preview/future gazers, is Green off of Red Hood? Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0
Thanks to you two. Good to know another book off the pull list. I am not sure about suicide squad. I did not like this reboot as I didn't care for the new 52 Harley. Interesting that DC really is moving people around so quickly. I guess they are hoping for something to click with the readers but it seems like they are not giving it much time in some instances.
P.S. Just read the Batwing trade from the library. Yikes. I would like someone who is a fan to let me know what I am missing. They have a scene in the first issue, flashback, then we don't get back to that scene until issue 6. Does not seem like a good read for floppies. I was hoping when he mentioned that he does not have the same computer tools (DNA database, etc) that maybe they would treat this book like an old timey detective story where he has to deduce who the baddie is without the hi-tech gizmos which can take some of that old timey Sherlock Holmes style fun.

I didn't make it past issue #3 on this, and that was only because I order ALL the new 52 for the 1st 3 issues. Had I been buying off the rack I wouldn't have gotten past #1.LA Rabbit wrote: P.S. Re: LET'S TALK: DC 2.0
I read it monthly for the first 5 issues for the same reason - I ordered all the new 52 up to that point. I think it was easily the worst of the new 52 and one of the worst books on the racks in general. I generally had minimal idea what was going on from issue to issue. It might have read tolerably well in the trades, but month to month was a mess. And nothing could help the art.BobBretall wrote:I didn't make it past issue #3 on this, and that was only because I order ALL the new 52 for the 1st 3 issues. Sounds like I hopped ship on GL just in time! I hadn't been wild about the book in general, and when I saw a multi-title crossover coming up, figured it was time to jump.BobBretall wrote:What do people think of "Wrath of the First Lantern"?
