Wow that is awesome John!! So for episode 500 will you and Drew review the first 500 issues of Amazing Spider-Man ?

That would be a ton of fun but also a ton of reading.

I'm not even sure how long that would take to read. I was able to read the entire 133 issue and 6 annual run of Warlord at one point and that took some time. It was a great read and I'm glad I did it. I just don't have that kind of time these days. Maybe once I retire (decades from now), I'll have the time and energy to do issue-by-issue reviews of some long standing titles.

Yea the history of comics is very daunting for me as well since joining Marvel Unlimited I'm reading a lot of the modern runs I've missed or not able to afford to add to my pull list in between my DCBS shipments. I honestly don't know how you are all in on Marvel and DC and stay current with both companies shipping close to 200 items a month. I have made a goal to try and read the entire Uncanny X-Men run starting with Giant Size X-Men since they are all on Marvel Unlimited. It's so daunting though. Congrats on episode 500 seriously that is amazing. Looking forward to listening to WCS #1000 with John and Drew in the future!

I just finished Weekly Comics Spotlight 501 and I was glad to hear that Drew and John both enjoyed The Deep from Boom Studios. You should check out the animated series of The Deep on Netflix. It's a lot of fun and the comic is an adaptation of the first arc of the show. It ran for one season and twenty six episodes. It's comparable to Johnny Quest, Secret Saturdays, or a junior kind of Fantastic Four. I did a long preview for issue one of this series on the Previews Spotlight a few months ago. I think it's a great series.

Also in regards to Spotlight 501 and the Rebirth master arc you were talking about I would mention that the Titans Hunt mini series that preceded Rebirth is a good starting point. That mini began to lay the groundwork for the whole thing. Maybe not essential to Rebirth but the foundation was being built.

Start a thread called "DC Rebirth Meta-Arc" and list the issues you think are involved in the overall Rebirth storyline. I'm thinking something like this:

This kicks off the entire DC Universe Rebirth meta-arc. It brings the Wally Weest Flash back into the DC Universe. It teases the return of the Legion of Super-Heroes and the JSA.

Go into as much depth as you want in the Summary area and please use the spoiler tag.

The purpose of the category is to differential comics which are core to the meta-arc, focused on the meta-arc or cursory mention of the meta-arc. I'm not sure what the right levels are for the categories. The idea is to let people know what is essentially reading versus a "red sky" level tie in. Back during Crisis on Infinite Earths many comics were labeled as tie-in issues. Some were fairly involved in the story but many simply had the sky go red in a panel or two and that was it. (The sky going red happened because of the Crisis.) Those red-sky cross overs are nice to know about but certainly aren't essential reading.
