National Comics - Looker #1 was a 4/5 book rescued from the $1 bin. Nice update to the character, but pretty much playing her straight as a fashion-model turned vampire. None of the "regular" super-hero roots of the pre-52 Looker.

The Kid Flash story was fun, but the 'banter' was old by about half way thru the issue. At the end it pointed me directly to Teen Titans #12. Has DCU Presents become a rotating title that pimps crossovers into other New 52 books in general or just this issue?
I believe this is the only time they did something like that in DC Universe Presents.

It is the only time they have done that. Kid Flash is also the only feature to be in just a single issue of DC Universe Presents.

That's good. I stopped the book after the 1st issue of Challengers & had not been keeping up with it's current format until I ran across this issue.

The Rise of The Third Army tie-ins lead into February's crossover; The Wrath of the First Lantern.

Phantom Stranger #2
They really beat me over the head with PS as a family man in this issue. Phantom Stranger at a soccer game with his wife & kids?
I'm sorry, no. I can't take this.
I'm dropping this title like a hot rock.

I thought issue 2 was a bit weak. I am on the fence with this book.

The plan from Dan DiDio, reacting to the current market dominance of Marvel NOW! is to jumpstart low-to-mid tier DC sales with spontaneous big ideas and sweeping initiatives. Which may need new creative teams and directions
I am told to expect DC PR to try and bury previous announcements, and ask compliant media sources for articles promoting a now non-existent team to be taken down.
Naturally, Bleeding Cool will be painting them with a big red circle and a pointy arrow.
And after the fallout of the attempt to fire Gail Simone, I’m told other creators being dropped have been asked not to tweet about it, in return for the possibility of future work at DC on other titles or fill-ins. Those who make a fuss won’t be returning.

Hopefully this does not include a change to Jeff Lemire taking on Green Arrow, he's the only reason I added that book to my pull list.

SO has Marvel NOW been a big success saleswise? How has it compared to nuDC? Are sales back to pre-nuDC levels? Or did DC retain some of its gains?

This seems like a particularly (bleep) move. If you don't want people calling you a dick, don't fire them in a (bleep) way!

New #1s with boatloads of variant covers? How could this NOT be a sales success? This is the kind of things people say they hate yet buy by the truck full.
Not enough time has elapsed to see if it has any staying power.

Wonder Woman #15 is the reason why I buy comic books. Azz and Chiang are knock this book out of the park. Page 6 in particular had me laughing (no exaggeration) out loud. I will be buying this book and putting it on the top of the stack as long as this team remains on it (and yes, replacement teams if they can keep the book to this level of quality).
On the flip side:
Batman:The Dark Knight #15 easily tops Amazing Spider Man 700 as the stupidest plot device of the new year. Yeah, I know, ASM700 was out last year, technically. Work with me here, people!

The first issue of Demon Knight by Robert Veditti (#16) was the best issue of Demon Knights since issue 1. The story combined with Bernard Chang's art makes this one of my favorite DC books again. Loved the cliffhanger.

I agree. Venditti was a great choice for new writer. He's doing a greta job on X-O Manowar at Valiant too.

Check out DC's "WTF April":
http://www.newsarama.com/comics/dc-wtf- ... -2013.html
None of this made me want to reach out & try anything I'm not already getting. DC Marketing is going to need to try harder. I'm just not a fan of what I like to call "Crypto marketing". Leave a lot of stuff unsaid & hope I want to ferret out the unstated by buying your product.
Doesn't work on me, maybe others are susceptible.
With the official logo debuting on BuzzFeed, the "WTF Certified" month was teased by seven statements from DC.
• Booster Gold reappears while an entire team disappears
• One team is trapped in a bottle while another is changed completely
• Some heroes change their colors and other change allegiances
• Pandora battles to the death
• A close encounter of The Dark Knight kind
• There's a new, old Creeper and some old New Gods.
• One hero quits, and another hero dies
Follow the link above for what are some pretty good guesses on what each point is going to mean.
