Thanks. I've updated the diagram with that crossover.

If people will help dig up the information, I'd like to included dashed lines for explicit footnote references. In particular, there have been a few footnotes to future issues that I'd like to include on the diagram.

Thanks. It took me a while to figure out how to generate it and even long to get the layout similar to what I wanted.

I want to do a similar sort of diagram for series like Iron Man that have bounced between titles and numberings.

It is official, a new Justice League of America comic book in 2013 by Geoff Johns and David Finch.

Obviously, I am excited about this title. Bob might think it is because I am a big DC fan, but I am a HUGE Geoff Johns fan, so the fact that he is writing the third JL book (JLD is the second) is great news in my opinion.

BTW, this week both JLI Annual #1 and JL #12 comes out. I have read that you should read JL #12 before JLI Annual #1.

I used to be a big Geoff Johns fan, thinking he could do no wrong, until he disappointed me a few times with lackluster stuff (just my opinion).

Now I like him, but will not automatically buy anything he writes.

For example, I think his Justice League relaunch was EXTREMELY weak, with a decompressed initial story a'la Bendis.

The lineup of the new JLA does NOT excite me.....

meet the new Justice League of America: Steve Trevor! Vibe! Catwoman! Martian Manhunter! Green Arrow! Hawkman! Stargirl! Katana! Baz! (the new Green Lantern)! Wait…Vibe?
This is a line-up, with the exception of Stargirl, almost custom made to get me NOT to buy this.

Let's go back to a JLA line-up of B & C-list characters! This is a good idea??

I agree, very strange. Maybe they're thinking of cancelling those characters books thinking those readers will buy this, so instead of several struggling titles they're have a good selling one. I don't think that would work, but they're probably not thinking that either.

I hope we don't get a lengthy "Court of the Flamebirds" storyline where there's a Kryptonian organization of bad-guys that's been around for a long time that finally comes to light & plagues Superman with their agents who can all damage him & shoot him up with Kryptonian hallucinogens.

At least there are only 4 other books to crossover with though! :)

With Scott's talent I'd be shocked if he did the same type of thing. I'd love to see where he takes the story but that may be because I'm pretty new to Superman and so far I'm still waiting for something really great to happen.

Does anyone else think Superman in the new 52 has been pretty bland? Has Superman always been like this? Is he too powerful to write interesting stories or something?

What? You don't like Superman being able to read every medical book in five minutes and then doing emergency surgery using his X-Ray vision and super-sharp thumbnail?

I agree, I was just trying to be funny.....

I think Scott Snyder on Superman is a good thing, he's a very talented writer.

Yeah I read your dislike for Court of Owls so I knew you were being funny :)

Btw, if you like short stories at all I'd recommend Scott's book, Voodoo Heart. There are around 5-6 short stories and it's amazing how you immediately know it's him writing. I will say though if you like stories that have 'everything's wrapped up in a bow' endings, don't bother. He's like Stephen King in that the enjoyment has to be reading the story, not getting a conclusion.

I don't know old Superman stories, and I'm pretty sure you're kidding, but something tells me this actually happened in an old comic? :)

Oh, John posted a spoiler! :) I just read that issue so I guess I wasn't quite up to date.

I have to say after thinking about it more I am enjoying Action Comics pretty well. Even the Superman title is okay. I really enjoyed the first few issues, but now I'd just call it okay.

The main JL will still have the "A" list characters, but my question is how is this a real change to add B or C list characters to the JL. When they relaunched the JL after Crisis, it was mostly B or C list characters. There is a lot of history of having b or c list characters. If they didn't the JL would be a team of 5 characters. They had three JL books with the new 52 and only one of them had the big guns. This title is replacing JLI and it appears that the title will be closer align to both JL and JLD.

I am excited about this book. I think it is great that Green Arrow, Hawkman and Martain Manhunter is back on a JL team. I think it is great that Johns is writing Stargirl and Hawkman again. I am curious about Catwoman, but it would not be the first time she would be involved with the JL, Morrison used her briefly. That said, Catwoman is a female character that had her own series on and off over the past two decades. The inclusion of the new GL is great and interesting. Vibe gets a bad rap but I like JL Detriot. Also and more importantly, Johns have taken less popular and known characters in the past and really developed them. His whole JSA run was just doing that. He is doing that now with new characters in Aquaman (the Others).
