But I guess he's referring to the Before Watchman .... or maybe something else.
Roberson refers to this article as part of his reason for leaving. This is against both Marvel (Avengers-Kirby) and DC (Before Watchmen-Moore)

He is a talented writer and I am sure that we will see his work in comics published by other companies.
I am not shocked that he was fired from Fairest. It isn't just in the comic book industry, if you speak ill about the company you either work for or do business with, you will not have a professional relationship with that company going forward. In fact, most companies have policies where you are not allow to talk about the company (good or bad) publicly without permission.

This is particularly true in the incestuous world of comics, I think. One minute the DC person is working for Marvel, or Image, and vice-versa. Another minute the guy who was an artist for you is an editor looking at your books. It's definitely a don't-bite-the-hand-that-feeds with a little careful-who-you-piss-off-on-your-way-up thrown in for good measure.
Comics, fortunately, is a medium where you can break off and do your own thing, though...hopefully Robeson will find some success there.

I get e-mails from EW every day giving me the run-down on the top "news" in the world of entertainment. Batman #9 came in at #5 today with a link to the EW website:

All this talk about crossovers so far and I haven't seen one this bad yet, and somehow I just noticed this today. Justice League International #10: 'BREAKDOWN,' picking up where last month's FIRESTORM #9 left off.
Okay, I can get that issue and probably figure out what's going on since I don't read Firestorm and won't buy it just for that. This is what has happened in a few DC titles lately. BUT.....
JLI #11: 'BREAKDOWN' part five!
Great. Looks like that may be my cue to drop it. For at least two months I have to read parts of a story instead of a whole one? That's too long.

What do people think about the Zero issues coming in September??
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/04/19/ ... september/
The original new 52 books will be numbered #0 instead of being #13. And that their #13s will run in October instead.
That the zero issues will reveal stuff that happened before issue #1. Year Ones, flashbacks, origins.
Rather than One Month Later, it’s more like Five Years Earlier.
Will anyone be checking out books they're not already reading? or just get #0s of books they are getting anyway?
ALSO.....JLI is cancelled as of #12
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/05/14/ ... -issue-12/
But it's likely just making way for yet another JL book to start with a new #1.....

I'll only get the #0 of titles that I already get. If I dropped a book due to lac of interest, then I'm not interested in what happened before #1 ... not sure who would but you never know.
I'm dropping JLI anyway because of my above post, I doubt I'll check out whatever it's going to turn into. I'm cutting back on team books as so far they haven't really had great stories, just 'too many cooks in the kitchen' syndrome.
So when do you think the next batch of cancellations will be? #16 to go with the 8 issues of the first cancels? I hope I, Vampire makes the cut and they keep out guest stars. I see guest stars as foreshadow to cancellation [Batwing].

I was kind of expecting more books to get the ax with #12....... We'll know when the August solicits come out.

They're all out now at CBR, looks like JLI is the only one and they didn't even list the "FINAL ISSUE" in the solicit. Strange.

Fair enough. Looks like DC is being cagey, since they don't even list JLI #12 as a final issue.

Maybe they want to squeeze out some extra zero issues which would be problematic for a series cancelled at #12......
So maybe we won't know the survivors until we see (or rather don't see) a #13 solicited in 2 months time.
Subscription Movements

Sorry if this is the wrong thread but didn't want to start a new one.
I'm a Direct subscriber to a number of DC books and received a letter today telling me the below titles would no longer be offered as a SUBSCRIPTION after issue 10 though they would still be available at my local comic shop or at dc online. Interesting the titles they took back from me. Some are some of their better sellers, others not so much. I have not idea what to read into it ... maybe the LCS's are complaining ? Any body else have any idea as to why this may be happening?
Anyway, here are the titles that were cancelled and what I moved them to
Cancelled Move to
Birds of Prey -> Supergirl
Swamp Thing-> Batwoman
Hawkman -> Flash
Aquaman -> Teen Titans
GL: New Guardians -> GL Corps
DCU Presents -> Superman

Did you get to pick what titles you wanted to move them to or were they assigned for you?
It's a weird set of titles, as you say, since I can see Hawkman getting cancelled, but not Aquaman. Plus, them pulling the plug at #10 when these have all been solicited through at least #12 is very strange.....

They initially assigned titles with the option to move them. I moved 4 of the 6 as I was already getting what they assigned to me. Unfortunately not all titles were available for selection. Ones I wanted that were not available included Demon Knights, Dial H, and Earth-2. Last two not too surprising as they're new.
Also, to DC's credit, they did offer to replace two of the 2.99 titles with 2 3.99 titles (Batman & Justice League .. both I already am getting).
Other titles that were offered that I'm already getting or passed on included Batgirl and Green Arrow.
I could here the call center in the background going hot and heavy. Usually very quiet when I've called in the past. Also when I was picking out the replacement for Aquaman the phone rep mentioned that it was quite a popular title tonight.
Just a weird selection of books to be limiting subscriptions on.

It has to be a data error or something. I don't see DC canceling Swamp Thing, Birds of Prey and Aquaman anytime soon.

DC is being cagey but gave a hint of what to come in the new 52 FCBD. And Geoff Johns is the co-writer of JLI Annual #1.
