I was there from 12:30 to about 1:30. Didn't see John and apologies 80sJunkie, but I don't know what you look like. I was in a red Flash t-shirt.

Tons of families, which was cool to see. Also the new Hulk statue is pretty awesome. The remodel there is a huge difference.

I spent waaay too much money there this weekend, but hey, it only happens once a year, right?

Too bad they didn't have the massive dollar bins like they did last year. I was disappointed with the trade selection, but cool that they had showcase books out this year for the first time.
I was pleased by the amount of people there but it did make parking a bit of a pain.

I didn't buy that much today. I did get the Chronicles of Conan v8 trade and another hardcover but that was it.

80sJunkie and I were both there during that same time. (We were in the main part store, not the back issue area.) The place was kind of busy and between the size of the store and the layout of it, I'm not entirely surprised we missed each other there. Sorry about that.

I remember seeing a shirt like that. I actually thought it was for Flash Gordon at first.

It was quite packed and stuffy. I was getting light-headed after a bit, and my 1-year old was just lying on the floor from the heat after a few minutes. I think we left a little after 1pm.

I got ASM 568 for the return of Romita Jr.

Also got ASM #106 and #112, and the first JSM-penned issue #30. These were in the short-boxes they keep in front of the grail wall.

Got the first Invincible trade and a Howard the Duck Essential.

Everything but ASM 568 was half off, and the total was less than $50.

My collection is probably much newer than either of yours (John's for sure). I'm still filling tons of gaps and so I usually end up spending a lot at this sale. I try to split my major back issue purchase between this sale (those under $10) and any cons I go to (those >$10) with occasional auction purchases a few times a year.

I probably bought 50-75 books at the sale this year.

There hasn't been a year yet that I printed out my want list and was able to get close to even making it all the way through the list before I cried uncle and couldn't add more to my without feeling guilty about the money I spent.

My local shop had a 50% sale on Saturday. I met up with fellow geek David Akers and we spent a few hrs there. I took home a few less books then he did but I was quite happy to fill some holes I had for some early Liberty Meadows. I'll post a list after my sis in laws leave and I can go thru my stack.

Half-Price Books has a 20% off sale for Labor Day weekend, so 20% additional off the normal 50% price. I picked up a number of trades:

She-Hulk vol. 3
FF: The New Fantastic Four (1st trade of the McDuffie run)
JLA: Strength in Numbers & Tower of Babel
JSA: Justice Be Done
Judge Dredd: The Complete America
DC: The New Frontier vol. 2
and The Dark Age from Twomorrows

Sorry for the late response.

Picked up 18 issues of Uncanny Xmen between #153 and #200. Also got Annual #9, Six Million Dollar Man #1, an issue of Dennis the Menace and House of Secrets 84 thru 88 with what I think are Neal Adams covers.

Got them all at Half Price Books (S. Lamar) for less than $3 a piece.
