Yes, we're talking about the same Doom Patrol that was reprinted in the DC Archives here. COMPLETELY different from the Morrison run, this is a fairly "standard" Silver Age DC book, maybe a bit edgier (with the 60s definition of "edgy" which by today's standards is not much of an edge at all)Lord Shaper wrote: With the 4 that I got from the 90's run that finishes my series for me so I'm intrigued with getting into the earlier series but I haven't started on it yet.
Is that the same stuff that came out in Archives? I've been looking at the Doom Patrol archives but I haven't found them at the right price yet
That sounds like a good storyline. I'll have to add Detective 247 to my want list.Darth Kramer wrote:Yeah, I kinda splurged with some birthday money and picked up a book I've been lusting after for quite a while.
Detective Comics #247. I'm gonna be reviewing it on my podcast around issues #76-79 of Starman, so if you don't know what it is, it's the first appearance of Professor Milo and Bruce Wayne becomes "Starman" for an issue. This event was even referenced in the most recent issue of Batman as "Prof. Milo's fear gas".
I'm trying to talk Jon into trying out the Andy Diggle run on Hellblazer, help me out, guys......make some compelling arguments.....jon carroll wrote: Hellblazer-180-240, all but 230-240 for Bob, if anybody wants the other ten let me know.
bob, i'm just afraid that once I stop, I won't be able to stop, MUST HAVE MORE COMICS!!!!JLAFan wrote:I'm trying to talk Jon into trying out the Andy Diggle run on Hellblazer, help me out, guys......make some compelling arguments.....jon carroll wrote: Hellblazer-180-240, all but 230-240 for Bob, if anybody wants the other ten let me know.
John, if you REALLY don't want those Hellblazer issues, I'll take them all and give out 230-240 as a prize on the show.
After the downturn that the book went through with the Mina run Andy Diggle has taken John back to where he was when he first came through in Swamp Thing and the start of the Hellblazer run... It's been getting better and better as it's been going on and I'm starting to get concerned about what it's going to be like when he leaves at 245!jon carroll wrote:bob, i'm just afraid that once I stop, I won't be able to stop, MUST HAVE MORE COMICS!!!!JLAFan wrote:I'm trying to talk Jon into trying out the Andy Diggle run on Hellblazer, help me out, guys......make some compelling arguments.....jon carroll wrote: Hellblazer-180-240, all but 230-240 for Bob, if anybody wants the other ten let me know.
