This is a great one. I have an oversized HC reprint of this from 25 years ago and this story was way ahead of it's time.Koete wrote:DC COMICS CLASSICS LIBRARY: SHAZAM! – THE MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL HC

The classic Golden Age storyline reprinted again at last! Can't wait to finally read this.
Highly recommended.

Can he revitalize it without editorial meddling is the bigger question I think.BobBretall wrote:Full DC solicits for October are up on the web:

Besides Blackest Night/Green Lantern titles, I am excited about the following:
Justice League of America - I really hope that James Robinson can recapture the magic.
Planetary #27 - I might to re-read the whole series to understand the last chapter. When the first issue came out, I wasn't even married!!!
SHAZAM! – THE MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL HC - I have heard so many great things about this story, that I can't believe it is finally coming out for me to get.

I think McDuffie might have gotten a lot of meddling because of how he is outspoken on the internet (e.g., editorial liked to screw with him).Skyhawke wrote:Can he revitalize it without editorial meddling is the bigger question I think.BobBretall wrote:Full DC solicits for October are up on the web:

I'm hoping that since Robinson has been writing a lot of good stuff so far without seeming to have a heavy editorial hand screwing him up that this will extend itself to JLA also.
Here is the other thing that is bothering me about JLA lately. How often can you have a cover with the JLA members all laying down defeated on the ground? I mean is it really that hard to come with idea for the story to depict on the cover for JLA now? 4 covers now in over a little of a year. Someone needs to start drawing something new.
