First, thanks for the comments on the show. We really appreciate them.

One more time (from me):

I didn't dislike Wednesday Comics, I just didn't think it was the greatest comic put out this year (that honor goes to Detective Comics for the Batwoman kick-off).

While $3.99 is pricey, given that DC is most likely paying "enhanced" page rates to the creators, the price is roughly in line with the $3.99 books with 30 pages of content DC is putting out.

So, at the end of the day, I will keep buying this series, precisely because there is content in there that I love. While this is enough for DC to get my (DCBS discounted) $3.99 each week, it's NOT enough for me to ignore the weak parts and give the overall package a higher rating.

Fortunately for me, I can afford to buy books that get a "3". I ordered 146 comics on the July order form, that would be WAY fewer if I only got things that I gave a 4+

Congrats on hitting 100. That is very impressive. I am getting ready to hit the triple digits for Geek Brunch but it has taken us much longer.

I have not read Ms. Marvel yet but from what I have read it is a solid "3" for me.

As far as Wednesday's Comics, I absolutely loved it and thought it was a very original idea. I went in with some high expectations and it exceeded them. The only feature that I am having problems with is Wonder Woman.

Here is to another 100.

Congratulations on your 100th episode [WebWiz32]

I've been listening to your show since about episode #44. I've been a fan ever since. I think your podcasts are the best for new or lapsed readers such as myself. Because of you guys I'm reading Walking Dead and The Sword, among others.

My initial reacton reaction to seeing the Wednesday Comics #1 on the shelf at my LCS was "there's no way I'm paying $3.99 for a newspaper." But I flipped through one in the store and the art looked really nice so I bought one. Now after reading the stories I think I'll wait to see what they do with the trade. While the art for the majority of strips was a 4/5 rating in my mind, the writing didn't grab me.

I wish I could go to SDCC and see Bob on the podcast panel. Maybe next year I'll go. I'm looking forward to listening to the podcast of the podcast panel. Hope you guys get some good scoops or interviews while you're at SDCC!

Congratulations on 100 John and Bob. Just finish the episode today and wow you really spent a lot of time on Wednesday Comics. Not that I didn't mind and it makes me glad I didn't commit to many pre-orders to the series.

I would agree on the lack of direction on Ms. Marvel. They have had only one under lining theme to the entire book and that was her merging with the alien and increasing her power and messing with her head. Other than that the book/character has been a good concept but has no creator or editor that can steer it in one direction. It doesn't help that the character has been through some reboots that are reminiscent to Hawkman. Ms. Marvel to Binary to Warbird and back to Ms. Marvel again.

I think I was affected by the fact that the book pulled itself back onto my "buy list" after having been dropped for 4 months or so.

All I managed to get done at dinner was to copy the files off the SD card onto my netbook. The table at dinner was tiny and I knew there wouldn't be room for the netbook once the food arrived (and there was barely room for the food at that point). So I didn't even get a chance to start the audio processing of the episode until I got back to the hotel room. And on the 1Gh cpu on my netbook, just leveling the audio files took about 3 hours. If I can get the episode up today I will but it is more likely to go up on Wednesday.

I got caught up with the podcast this weekend. I have been behind since I commute with my wife all week long (she would give me the "I am crazy look" if I suggested listening to a comic book podcast in the car) and I have changed my workout routine to workout with a friend instead of solo.

Anyway, I really liked Wednesday Comics. I enjoyed the strips a lot more than John and Bob did. I agree that it wasn't the best book ever as the internet has made it out to be. (In fact, thought the Green Lantern issue with the Black Hand to be the best book of the week). But, I still enjoyed it. I read some of the strips to my kids and they enjoyed it.

Ms. Marvel was one of those books I dropped not because it wasn't good but because of lack of direction. I felt that it was always in the moment of where the Marvel Universe was and didn't have its own direction. Based on your comments, it might be something I search for when I go to Baltimore Comic Con.

As for Amazing Spider-man and Justice League of America 100. I am a BIG time DC fan boy, but when I started to collected older material a couple of years ago, I realized the DC I fell in love with was written by ex Marvel writers. I still like the older DC stuff, but the Marvel stuff from the 60s and early 70s were 100x better than the DC stuff. I think the older Marvel stuff holds much better than the older DC stuff. That is why I tend to focus on the Showcases or Chronicles when it comes to the DC stuff, but don't mind spending the extra money to get the Marvel Masterworks.
