I read PVP daily on the web so me and my wife quickly came to the realization buying the comic was a waste of money. The sad thing is when he first tried this he did with Dork Storm Press, it was original content.

I'm with Bob on PvP. There is no technical reason this content shouldn't just be ready to go. There must be some kind of business reason for Scott to hold back publishing issues.

Or he struck some kind of deal where his issues only get published when there is excess capacity in the Image supply chain?

On the Question backup in Detective -- I don't see how it is even a Question story. You could plug in almost *any* Rucka female protagonist and it works. The only thing that makes it a Question story is a couple of throw away lines about them having a web-site to mine conspiracy data and answer 'questions'.

I did like the Batwoman story, though.

Read Sirens at lunch and won't continue with it. Overall it was just a so-so story for me, and my interest in the Batman universe seems to not be particularly high. I'll probably just stick with Batman and Robin, Detective, and Red Robin for now.

But that's 3 more Bat books than I was buying 2 months ago, so I guess that's something.

Loved detective comics. The Batwoman art and story was amazing and I also enjoyed the Question story. I like where they are going with it.

Also Gotham City Sirens worked for me as well. Overall I am very happy with the Batman universe relaunches.

I also am enjoying the Dark Reign Elektra series. It is probably my second favorite next to Diggle's Dark Reign Hawkeye.

I'm with Bob on PvP. There is no technical reason this content shouldn't just be ready to go. There must be some kind of business reason for Scott to hold back publishing issues.

Awhile back Scott said he and Image had amicably decided not to continue the print publication of the book. He chose to focus on the web-aspects of it, and will continue to print larger collections in trade (through Image I believe), but putting the book together wasn't getting him a good ROI (return on investment). It sold well, but not well enough for him, or Image, to keep it going if there wasn't a strong desire to do so.

Makes sense to me. Put the strips up. When you get a bunch, do a bigger book.

I'm fine with that, so why publish a 20-page comic over a year after it was solicited? Just cancel the thing and concentrate on the trades.

Detective Comics looks fantastic, but I'm waiting for the trade. I want to have that J.H. Williams artwork on my shelf and not in a longbox.

Indeed. I don't know that it's any different with trades. I think I'm *still* waiting for my 10th Anniversary TBP more than 1 year after it was solicited.

Will Scott just go ahead and make it an 11th ann. TPB?

While I think that decision makes sense, I fail to see how it was a bad deal for Image. They get $2500 per issue regardless of how it does. So at long at Kurtz was publishing issues, the ROI was there for Image. Given the pure reprint nature of the title, I'm surprised the RIO wasn't there for Kurtz since the investment should have been minimal. I also agree with Bob that Kurtz should have just canceled the late issues.
