I would say both are at fault. I think if McDuffie only make a couple of comments it wouldn't have been a big deal. But, it doesn't matter how good you are, people don't like someone airing dirty laundry.
True. But isn't the real problem that there was dirty laundry to begin with?
McDuffie recounted the problems he encountered on the title in a fairly matter of fact manner. McDuffie was in a bad situation that was resulting in him looking bad because of behind the scenes issues. I can't really fault him for clarifying what was going on, particularly since he did it without slamming the editors or DC.
It is unfortunate but understandable that DC opted to cut him loose versus fixing the core problems.
Well any guilty feelings about dropping the book and not supporting McDuffie are now gone. DC really handled this title badly. McDuffie clarified that these remarks were a compilation of comments over several months and not something that happened all at once. I was hoping Marvel would reach out and scoop this guy up, but it looks like he will be busy for the foreseeable future.
