Ah…got to love the “weekly hall” list. Actually, I do find it quite enjoyable to hear what passed back issues and new books you and John have picked up since the last podcast.

Not so much for you guys, whom have huge lists…but those with smaller lists…maybe add a line or two by a title on why you’re digging it or not digging it.

Action Comics 871: Part 4 of the New Krypton storyline. I haven’t read any of this storyline, but am hedging my bets that I’ll enjoy it. I’ve like James Robinson’s first story arc with Superman and since he was writing some of this storyline…figured I’d go all in.

Anna Mercury 4: Liked the first two issues, but found issue three a little confusing. If this wasn’t a limited series, I’d probably drop it. Maybe I’ll be surprised and get some payoff this issue.

Detective Comics 850: Not happy that it’s part of the Batman RIP storyline. But, Paul Dini’s issues on Detective have been quite good. His focus on the villains is reminiscent to me of when Geoff Johns wrote some of those early issues of his flash run which focused on the individual rogues.

Fables 78: Good stuff month in and month out. Looking forward to where this goes post war.

Green Arrow/Black Canary 14: There’s been a lot of ragging on Winnick and this series. Honestly, I think of it as light and fluffy. Feels like a fun superhero book from the 80s. It doesn’t take itself too seriously. Only complaint…it takes less than 4 minutes to read the book.

Wolverine 69: I’m not an X-men fan…but this premise interested me. And I must say, I’m hooked to see where this goes. I do hope it doesn’t tailspin into some convoluted tale trying to connect fantastic four (which I am picking up) and 1985 (which I am not getting).

Other comics I wanted to get but didn’t were:

Amazing Spider-man 577: The shop got short changed on copies from Diamond. They get the missing copies later this week.

Manhunter 36: I thought I put this on my pull list awhile back…apparently I didn’t and all copies on the shelf were sold out. The shop is ordering a copy for me. I found the run overall enjoyable, but the last arc somewhat painful. I’m neither glad or sad to see it the book end.

Black Terror was on my list at the beginning of the week but it was moved to unshipped. I wonder if there was a shortage or something.

A lot of DC comics this week for me. I stopped pre-ordering MI13, but I still might pick up at a LCS later this month.

The comic book that I am the most excited to read: Wolverine #69.

Action Comics 871: The Superman books are great at the moment; I really like the direction the books are heading in. These like the Green Lantern books have there own little tight continuity and I like that. In a way it’s a best weekly series since 52.

Detective Comics 850: Can’t wait to read the final part of what has been a brilliant return for Hush. I agree with Flash77, this is really nothing to do with RIP.

Green Arrow/Black Canary 14: This series is handing on by a thread. Again I agree with Flash77, you read it in no time and I’m not a fast reader and since the reboot has been okay but not great. I do like the characters though, so I’ll stay on for the new creative team.

GLC 30: Tomasi’s has improved an already good book.

JSA KINGDOM COME SPECIAL SUPERMAN 1: Love the JSA and can’t wait to see what happens.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 577: Started picking this up with Brand New Day and I’m really enjoying it, though I have fallen behind. I’m still on the “New ways to die” storyline.

BLACK TERROR #1: Again I’m behind I just reading through Project Superpowers now.

One thing that might be fun for a potential spoilers filled thread is write about issues from the earlier Previews Spotlights episodes. For example, I'm curious what other people may think of Sir Apropos of Nothing #1 (IDW), covered in your September Previews Spotlight. I won't talk about it here because I don't want to spoil it for anybody.

From HC: (I'm getting shipments twice a month) REC'D 11/14

Ian, feel free to start threads to discuss specific issues. Just slap a (spoilers) notice in the thread title.

I'm looking forward to reading Sir Apropos (for instance), I should get it next Tuesday.

Seems like the sole disadvantage in living in California is that it takes longer for my mail-order comics to get to me from the mid-west ;)

I ended of getting a copy of Gigantic because of Remender's writing. Haven't read it yet...was it good?
