This is the place to discuss the episodes of the Comic Book Page podcast, the Comic Book Page website or pretty much anything else of interest to the Comic Book Page community...

I must have missed your suggestions above. The only one I recall (from the Marvel Price Hike thread) was for them to increase the amount of new content as they increase the price. While I agree that seems fair, I can't see how that could possibly make the comic any more viable for the publisher.
You're right, it was in the other thread.
I actually had 2 suggestions, both involved adding more content along with the price hike. One suggested adding reprint material (which while it would not appeal to ME, could very well appeal to a lot of the audience that does not own every comic back to 1970).
The other was to add more all-new material with the price hike.
If adding more material is not viable for the publisher, then paying more for the same amount of material will be the path, and I don't see how that is going to work in the long term, as the amount of entertainment I get from a 22-page comic for new $2.99 comic is already a pretty poor deal compared to the sames $ spent on movies or even back issues.

Your attitude on this and Bob's comments along the lines that they won't listen to us any way so why bother are understandable. You both might be right and there may be nothing we can do about it. I'm not ready to concede that yet.
I know for a fact that people at the various publishers do read what my CBR articles. That isn't to say that act on what i have to say or even if they take it seriously or not. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But they do read those articles. That is just one avenue we have for putting forth a possible solution to downward sales and resulting the price hike.
I'd much rather try to fix things than throw up my hands in defeat.
Go for it. Maybe it is the case that someone may listen to you since you have a CBR article. I still think they would not listen to me or Tim, and I have other ways to spend my time.

Exactly. That is why some other solution is needed. Paying $3.99 for 22 pages of story and a bunch of ads isn't viable.
Obviously the "correct" solution is for publisher to create comics that more people will buy. Something that is easier said than done.
If this problem isn't solved and more and more readers drop more and more titles then the future of comics is going to be fairly short and painful.
