I don't know what it is about the Kirby DC stuff, buts it is almost like you have to mature into it. For several decades I would have said it was the worst thing ever, but then the light clicked and I got the genius. Since then I have gone back and tried to get all of them. The Fourth World stuff is now some of my favorite comics of all, when as little as five years ago I would have told your the New Gods were the worst thing to ever happen to the DCU.

I became a huge Kirby fan in my college years and my love for his work continues to grow with each passing year :).

I know that feeling. I enjoy podcasting but it can really eat up some time.

Glad to see the Breath of Bones mini-series get consistently high marks from you. Not heard many people mention it, but I think this was a really great little series. The story went where you would have expected from the solicits for the series, but was executed excellently and I loved the art.

It was great. I just wish there was more of it. I am a fan of Steve Niles and Dave Watcher. Dave recently had a kickstarter that I supported and did an issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Micro Series. I have been following him for years and soon he will be BIG. I just know it.

I'm a little surprised Phantom Stranger is usually a 5 out of 5 for you. I find it to be okay but not brilliant. What it is about the title that is working so well for you?

Everything. First of all I love the character and all of the religious undertones of the book about him being Judas and seeking vengeance. I think the art has been amazing and the covers as well. This last issue I think was key because
He was told never to go back to Heaven and he took that risk seeking redemption in the eyes of God to try and prove Superman's innocence. I thought the seen with Batman in Heaven was brilliant and also enjoyed the Katana one as well. The dialog in each issue is so good that I usually re-read it again. I love this book and can't understand why other don't ;) When I read this I just get sucked into another world and am oblivious to my surroundings. By the way I would not consider my self big on religion but find this book fascinating and thought provoking.

Interesting. The title is working much better for you than it is for me. I like it but don't don't love it.

I generally find Dan Didio's writing to be okay but not brilliant. He isn't what I'd consider top tier writing talent. Certainly the latest issue had some good moments but overall, the title is one that I think might have been cancelled by now if it wasn't playing into the Trinity War and if Dan Didio wasn't writing it.

Maybe I should reread the series and see if there is a level to it that I missed the first time around.
