This is particularly true in the incestuous world of comics, I think. One minute the DC person is working for Marvel, or Image, and vice-versa. Another minute the guy who was an artist for you is an editor looking at your books. I am not shocked that he was fired from Fairest. It isn't just in the comic book industry, if you speak ill about the company you either work for or do business with, you will not have a professional relationship with that company going forward. In fact, most companies have policies where you are not allow to talk about the company (good or bad) publicly without permission.

Will anyone be checking out books they're not already reading? or just get #0s of books they are getting anyway?The original new 52 books will be numbered #0 instead of being #13. And that their #13s will run in October instead.
That the zero issues will reveal stuff that happened before issue #1. Year Ones, flashbacks, origins.

They're all out now at CBR, looks like JLI is the only one and they didn't even list the "FINAL ISSUE" in the solicit. They initially assigned titles with the option to move them. I moved 4 of the 6 as I was already getting what they assigned to me. Unfortunately not all titles were available for selection. Ones I wanted that were not available included Demon Knights, Dial H, and Earth-2. Last two not too surprising as they're new.Did you get to pick what titles you wanted to move them to or were they assigned for you?
It's a weird set of titles, as you say, since I can see Hawkman getting cancelled, but not Aquaman. Plus, them pulling the plug at #10 when these have all been solicited through at least #12 is very strange.....

I'm a Direct subscriber to a number of DC books and received a letter today telling me the below titles would no longer be offered as a SUBSCRIPTION after issue 10 though they would still be available at my local comic shop or at dc online. Interesting the titles they took back from me. Some are some of their better sellers, others not so much. I have not idea what to read into it ... maybe the LCS's are complaining ? Any body else have any idea as to why this may be happening?

Maybe they want to squeeze out some extra zero issues which would be problematic for a series cancelled at #12......
So maybe we won't know the survivors until we see (or rather don't see) a #13 solicited in 2 months time.
