I've gotten a bunch of Nick & Dents in the past, most have had problems so minor that they looked like they could have come right off the shelf at the comic shop. BUT, a once or twice there have been some pretty major flaws, like a ripped spine on a HC or a noticeable scratch on the cover.

Thanks for the heads up, I snagged the Falcon statue. Shipping was REALLY reasonable, flat rate of $4.99.

EDIT...... or not...... just got the following e-mail:
We are emailing to let you know, the item you ordered "Falcon Statue" is currently sold out. We have issued you a refund. Please let us know if you do not see the refund within a few days.

We appreciate your business!

It's a bit of a gamble with nick/dent. Most of it is only slightly damaged, then some are not damaged at all, and a few are kind of wrecked. All are at least reader copies where you won't be missing any of the story. At least that's been my experience with them in the past. Sometimes TFAW has both a regular copy at sale price like 80% off and a nick/dent at the same time. I made that mistake once and bought the nick/dent but it wasn't a big deal in the end.

I was trying to sneak that one in under the wire.....

I promised my wife I would not make any on-line purchases for myself during the month of December......

Today is my last day to sneak in a couple of back issue buys :-)

I ordered a bunch o' stuff from this sale. Filled up my cart before the Friday, then ordered what was left Friday morning. Thanks to the free shipping coupon I was able to fill some holes on the cheap. I also ordered some collected books to give to my brother-in-law for Christmas in an attempt to lure him into comics. Thanks for the heads up on this great sale! I probably would've missed it otherwise.

I'm also trying to do this (on my own) but I'm weak so I'll probably fail miserably. When you don't collect for several years the hole is bigger than the collection on either side of it.

got my shipment today. They sent me an email saying that they weren't going to be able to send the essential I ordered (OHOTMU vol 2) due to condition and it is marked off on my invoice, but still in my box and in good condition. Thanks TFAW! :)

I got that same letter about one of my Crying Freeman volumes. I'll have to wait and see if it's in my box or not. If not, I can get it from other places.

I like that they were up front about it...if it's in too bad a shape, even for a nick and dent, they're not going to send it or charge me for it.

Looking forward to getting the big box...

I got an e-mail saying that they ran out of the Fear Agent trades I ordered. Then I got an shipment e-mail that showed my entire order, including the Fear Agent trades, were shipped. But, when I look at my account it shows that ONLY the Fear Agent trades shipped and not the X-factor, or any of the other trades I ordered shipped.

I guess this box will be a mystery and surprise.

Some trades weren't shipped

When I got my order shipping notification, it was preceded by an e-mail telling me the invoice WOULD NOT reflect that some books had been removed. My account shows for that order that those books are on 'preorder' as opposed to 'shipped'. It would have been nice to be given the option to cancel other books when I found out stuff wasn't shipping. I ordered a run of books -- largely so I could have them all without hunting for them, at a price I was happy to pay. Oh well. Still got some fantastic prices on some books I would have otherwise left on the store shelves.

The nicks and dents in my order were as good as anything you would find on a Barnes and Noble shelf. I got a huge order of omnibus's for next to peanuts and with free shipping so I am a very happy chappy.

I got my box yesterday!

A whopping 38 lb box full of Dark Horse Archives.

The one "Nick & Dent" I got was vol. 1 HC of Family Circus that was $5 and it looks like it came right off the shelf @ the local store, nothing wrong with it.
