Boring stuff follows, but it's helping me justify 96 books, since tonight's DCBS shipment will finish filling up a long box of unread books.
Assuming my sleep deprived math is correct 96 books. But, like Bob has noted on his cutback thread allowing mini-series to run out and not picking up new ones is paring that back. The Stan Lee books are done this month with Starborn 12; I think this is the last Butcher Baker Candlestickmaker; Danger Girl Army of Darkness has one more issue; Route Des Maisons Rouges finishes this month; Crossed Psychopath is done, I just missed the initial solicitation of issue #5; Only one more issue of The Cape; One more Marksmen; Final Bomb Queen VII; A few one-shots from Hack Slash; And the big savings will come in next month when (I assume) DCBS won't offer the whole new 52 at 50% off and I'll cut those back quite a bit.

I've been trying to cut back, with limited success as you can see here. Not only is it money, but I just don't have the time to read. I had a day when I read a lot and it felt like I accomplished something... like it was a job. That's not what it's all about. Anyway, I made some more cuts, including from my last order. I like GI Joe, but I don't want to read 3 books. I couldn't decide which books to drop, so I dropped them all. Warlord of Mars was another one where I couldn't decide which of the 2 books to go and got rid of both. And my Marvel list is as low as it's been in a few years as I dropped some books that were double shipping too often. And in general, Fear Itself and X-Men Schism are not exciting me about the future Marvel U. It seems like these events are more about getting to the next era than telling a compelling story. As was Flashpoint, for that matter. But a lot these Marvel events that the writers are "passionate" about seem pretty flat to me. I'm not going anywhere near the 20+ comics that will directly follow Fear Itself.

I'm seeing this kind of thing as more & more of a common pattern.

I did it myself with "The Boys" when they put out the latest Butcher mini-series. 2 Boys titles a month is one too many, so I dropped both.

Yep, I dropped a couple of Marvel books because they were OK to read once a month, but not good enough to survive a couple double-ship months.

Doesn't look like much with the DC-52 bundled under one item, but this is yet another huge order for me for the 3rd month running, thanks to the DCBS 50% off deal. Once I've had a chance to read through more of the issue #1s I'll probably start cutting back. Speaking of cutting back, I'm getting a bit tired of all the Marvel double-shipping. I'm considering dropping the lot if they continue the practice, especially since I'm so far behind on my reading.
