I think having current stories linked to past stories is a plus. I think when continuity gets to be negative is when people try to establish direct links to everything that occurs in the past. Especially, when it comes to dates. I know that the blogs are trying to understand how everything fits with the new DC time wise since all the heroes are now younger. First of all, none of the new DC comics are out so I think it is too early to have detail analysis on the timeline without reading the ACTUALLY comic book. Second, did the previous timeline really worked in the past? Does Marvel timeline really works once you start thinking about it? Both companies have had younger characters age while keeping the "adults" about the same age. Yes, it falls apart if you start thinking about it, but it did in the past and it will in the future.

Speaking of continuity, one thing you have to give Morrison credit for was trying to link 70 years of Batman stories together.

The more I see the new Superman costume (with the high collar & red belt, see Hassan's avatar.....) the less I like it.

On the other hand, the more I see the "jeans, t-shirt and work boots" costume, the more I like that.

Yeah, but that's just the "I'm starting up and don't have a costume yet" version for Action until he gets the Jim Lee makeover for JLA (which is also some point around 5 years ago, but I guess a bit less 5 years ago than Action..........

PS: I prefer jeans & t-shirt to the high collar too.

Pretty much what I expected, but it didn't totally blow me away (which I was kind of hoping for at the back of my mind.....)

After seeing all the art, I have to say I've added titles to my list. I'm at 32 now, and with the way the discount plateau works and everything, it looks like for $13 I can get the rest of the 20 assuming I don't continue with those. So it may be worth it just to see.

I think the art looks really good, especially those Batman pages. Add in Synder's writing and that looks like a slam dunk.

This is weird, I went to look through the pictures again and I think a few are missing. I saw more than one page for I, Vampire and the art was enough to make me try it. I know I like the author, but the cover picture we've been seeing didn't look good and I'm a little wore out on vampires, but those interior pages made me interested ...though I only see the creature one now, and that one WAS the hook.

Most of these I thought were interesting anyway but I wanted to wait to see what the art looked like:

I, Vampire
Resurrection Man
Stormwatch
Batwing [that one page is incredible, and that's not on that link anymore either]

So since to get the remaining 20 issues I only needed to pay $13 more, I did it. So I'm now getting all 52 even though I have no interest in a few, such as:

Hawk and Dove [the art .... these characters look really dated]
Blackhawks
Men of War
Animal Man
OMAC
Mister Terrific
Green Arrow
All Star Western

But who knows, I originally only was getting like 20. Then 24 or so. Then weeks later 28. Then 32. Now 52. I'm betting the 2nd month will be more like 40 though.

The rumor has now been confirmed. JSA is coming back, but it will be based on Earth 2. Makes sense if the JLA is supposed to be the first super-hero team and Superman the first super-hero.

Does anyone know why OMAC seems to be so wildly hated? Is it the writer, Didio, or has this character been done before and it didn't work?

I just don't know why everyone seems to think this series will suck as opposed to Static Shock or Resurrection Man or any other lesser known titles.
