Agreed. It's not even whether the fear thing resonates with you, they just overdid it big time in this issue. It was just panel after panel of characters expressing self-doubt. I thought the first pages doing that were enough to set that up, then let's get on to the story. Instead they kept going back.

It's interesting, I think this is the first tie-in that really dealt with an overabundance of fear. Prior to that it just seemed like a lot of the stuff that you would see in everyday life, nothing really showing that this is a special case. I'm not sure if that is intentional or not, but I was expecting more of what we saw in this book where large crowds are rioting and there is an overabundance of fear.

I thought Home Front did a good job bringing home the panic in the populace that was reflected in the crowd in Fear Itself #1. I think the point is hammered home more in the second issue than the first.

For me, it's that I really don't care for the whole "everyone's hysterical with fear" angle. Especially in the main series & 6+ minis........

But, as you say, different strokes......

Paparazzi #1 (Bluewater) - Art is OK, what really got me here is a very cool story that takes the unrelenting stalking & faux-news created by real-world paparazzi and applies it to a world where they stalk super-heroes those same sensationalized photos. Shock ending has me coming back for more.

Brimstone #1 (Zenescope) - A crazy supernatural threat has overpowered a mining town & the mining company sends in a squad of mercenaries made up of every western stereotype in the book. I liked it though.

Wynonna Earp: The Yeti Wars #1 (IDW) - I've never read a Wynonna Earp comic before, but now I'll have to dig up some back issues. Wynonna is a covert US Marshal (& descendent of Wyatt Earp) who hunts down paranormal fugitives. Pretty cool story that brings her up to Alaska, different twist on some themes I've read (& liked) before.

Danger Girl/Army of Darkness #1 (Dynamite) - Good action, pretty girls, and a supernatural twist. We won't see Ash until #2, but I'm more a fan of Abby Chase anyway.

Warlord of Mars Dejah Thoris #1 - Really enjoyed this issue even though I did not even know the character. A story about two feuding families and one family proposes a marriage to end the fighting.

In general it seems a lot of people are not enjoying the Fear Itself event but I am loving it. I am thinking of adding every title to my pull.

Fear Itself #1 - I thought it was a good issue but some after reading two and some other tie ins I am sucked into this event big time and may purchase books I was not planning on because of it.

Fear Itself Youth in Revolt #1 - Sean really captured the mood of these heroes and the chaos that is happening around them. Norton kicks but on pencils

Fear Itself Spider-man #1 - Again it is craziness happening in the world of Spider-man and I am loving it. I love McKone's artwork and I have always enjoyed Yost storytelling in comics and in animation.

I think Marvel generally knows what they are doing. You don't consistently sell the most comics by being clueless to what your fans want.

While I personally am turned off by this event, I'm not at all surprised to hear other people are loving it. I think the art is GREAT on all the books above, I just personally don't like the backbone of the story.

Moriarty #1 - I absolutely LOVED this one. Great dialogue, and a wonderful take on Moriarty many many years after the passing of Sherlock Holmes. The art is a little 'scratchy' but it has character and I think it meshes well with the tone of the story.

Flashpoint #1 Man was this a great start to an event. Every page I turned I was thinking "oh man this is so cool". Loved the story and the art and am really interested in all of the other titles to see how this new timeline or world lays out. Great start and I am now really looking forward to next month as the slam us with so many titles which I will sit and read in one shot because I am so interested.

Breed III #1 (Image) - - I like a lot of Jim Starlin's other work but this issue didn't do anything for me. The inking or lack of it was bland and the coloring looked dated. It's almost like he did breakdowns and skipped the finishes. I haven't read any of the other Breed comics and the story in this #1 wasn't enough to pull me in.

I liked this first issue but I'm not sure I liked it enough to pay $3.99, as an ongoing. All previous issues of Moon Knight were 2.99, and I don't care enough about Bendis to pay a 33% premium for his name on it. I actually like Maleev's art here more than in his other series Scarlet.

From what I can tell so far, as there wasn't much dialogue, this is a blend of the tv show Doll House and the movie GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

I think this is on the third issue now, but I'm liking this as much as the main Mars title. I really enjoy Carlos Rafael's art, he's great at Sci-Fi, and of course cheesecake too. Gravity is apparently very different on Mars, especially for Dejah.

Breed III #1 (Image) - - I had quite a different experience with this one, I loved it. It felt very "Jim Starlin"-y to me, which I like. I realized that I had pretty much zero recollection of the previous Breed series even though I know I read them, but I thought there was plenty in this issue to get me back up to speed and fully enjoy this #1.

Pixies #1 (Arcana) - Not my cup of tea to get for myself, but seemed like a really fun story that might really hit the spot with younger girls. Hassan, you may want to look for this 25 cent preview issue to see if your girls like it, then you can decide whether you want to get the follow-on OGN when it comes out.
In any event, I like the idea of having a cheap comic that let's you decide whether you want to spend the $$ on a much more expensive OGN.

Last Mortal #1 (Image/Top Cow) - I liked the story, but the B&W art by Thomas Nachlick was really not clicking with me on this one.

Rocketeer Adventures #1 (IDW) - OUTSTANDING! I loved the John Cassady lead-off story and was completely charmed by the Kurt Busiek/Mike Kaluta story that finished off the issue. These 2 made the issue worth getting. While I like Mike Allred in general, I didn't really care for his art style being applied to the Rocketeer, so that story didn't really click for me.

I agree, though the art isn't bad enough for me to quit. It was very peculiar though, especially close-ups of faces. Compare this to the other Minotaur title and it's no contest.

Moon Knight #1 I enjoyed this take on the character and am interested on seeing where this goes. I also did not like the way Mr. Hyde was drawn but maybe it is the way this crazy (bleep) sees him
