What DC books do you read?

I agree but the lead story was about three times as long as normal so the price per page works out close to normal even if you only count the pages from the lead story.

I had no problems with its value as such. But I work with a set budget with my comics, when an issue comes out that is 3 1/2 times its normal cost, I have to weigh up if anything needs to be dropped.

It has to pass the "will my wife nag me" test, and it only scraped through.

Fair enough. $10 is $10. That isn't much out of my comic budget but I can see how that could be a noticeable amount for most people. Heck, for some people that might equate to their entire weekly comic budget.

I think that I read more DC then Marvel right now. I gave up on DC in 1994, and bought basally nothing from them until around the time 52 was coming out. The stories are so good now that I just cant get enough of DC.

nowadays that's pretty much my *whole* budget for a week of comics. Luckily, the binding and price let me justify it as a one-time 'trade' that I bought instead of part of my new issue budget.

For me, it's really a hybrid issue.

The question I have is about the trade when it comes out. Will it include the supplemental material? Will it be the same number of issues as a typical trade? Will it be $10 more expensive.

If all the content came in the typical 5-7 issue trade at the typical price -- what are they, like $15 -- THEN I would feel taken advantage of.

Otherwise I feel like the cost was justified. I loved the issue, the main story was extra long, and the bonus material was not just boring reprint/filler that you might usually get in a big anniversary issue.

I read alot more DC than Marvel as well. That all started with Geoff Johns and Green Lantern Rebirth a few years back.

I'm glad I'm not alone in doing so. Yes it 6 bucks retail (but I do DCBS) but I want more Superman that is in continuity or just fun stories. I am not enjoying Cornell's Luthor takeover of Action & hoping for a big battle in Action Comics #900 between Superman & Luthor. While hoping Superman's Grounded arc ends w/ Superman back in Metropolis for a while for a welcome change in pace. The world has been in "Crisis" mode for 2 years+ even Superman needs to catch his breath & spend some time w/ Lois & the Daily Planet working as a reporter.
