They will generally honor the price as long as they are able to slide the order in with Diamond. I'd say you can order it for the next several weeks, but it becomes more iffy if you wait until too close to the release date.

I've never tried this so take it with a grain of salt, but would it not be possible to buy the $50 hardcover, read it, and then flip it on Amazon of Ebay if you don't like it. You would probably recoup most, if not all, of your money. Probably.
