Popeye Picanic

Bob, heard you mention Popeye on ep 246. This past year I went to the annual Popeye Picnic in Chester, IL. Lots of fun! Not too far from Metropolis and Cape Girardeau on the Mississippi River. I've got a travel blog about it on my site HaveGeekWillTravel.com which includes pics of the Popeye charact...

Yep- would be great for doodling at conventions, restaurants, airports, meetings, or sitting on the couch in front of the TV. Get back to your computer and download them- no having to try to scan a sketchbook.

Inkling by WACOM

Inkling Inkling bridges the gap between traditional, freehand sketching and digital development by capturing a digital likeness of a pen-on-paper sketch. The Inkling digital sketch pen captures a digital likeness of your work while you sketch with its ballpoint tip on any sketchbook or standard piec...

I rarely go to conventions and never to a panel. Are rants like Marco's common? If I went to a panel featuring a book that I am a fan of and had to listen to one of the creators (bleep) about the publisher the whole time I'd be a little disappointed. I love going to conventions, and try to hit pane...

Have Geek, Will Travel!

I’ve been wanting to do a new web comic for some time now, but have also recently wanted to do a geek travel blog. I love traveling to comic conventions, checking out fun roadside attractions and geeky locations, and sharing my adventures. Since I’m marrying a tech geek (Nicki- who also loves comics...

I try to visit as many of the PHX/Mesa area LCSs when I'm out there. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Phoenix fans are some of the best around and that town has a fanbase like I've never seen anywhere else. I've shopped at Atomic before- think I've hit all 4 locations at one time or an...

Remember comic fans- the more comics change, the more the publishers change them back eventually.

One thing I've noticed Nicki complaining about around the house is the cancellations of many of the DC books she was reading/supporting. Fans can't buy them if you cancel them. Her pull list just got a lot shorter and sorry, the whole reboot/relaunch/reset just doesn't interest me. We're lucky here ...

Thanks, Yoda can be tricky to draw. When I did the one for the ESB set from the scene where he tells Luke, "You will be...you WILL be!" he just wasn't looking right. Then I realized he was cross-eyed in that scene and that's what helped him look scary! More approved cards to share... http:...
