Didn't Marvel do a similar thing in the 80's? The first month of the new higher price were all double-size specials. The following month, all the page counts dropped back to normal but the price stayed up high.... If Mighty Avengers goes to $3.99, I might have to give it the axe. I was looking forwa...

John, please don't get burned out. Take a break or maybe slow down a little. How about Back Issues Spotlights every other week. We're considering ramping back to 2 episodes a week (on the non Mayo-Report & non-Previews weeks) for at least a while. Hopefully that will help on the burnout. Yeah, ...

All of my superhero comics are sorted by universe (Marvel, Marvel 2099, DCU including Vertigo titles based on DCU characters, ABC, Ultraverse, Milestone, Valiant, Wildstorm, etc.). The individual titles are sorted alphabetically therein. I also have a shortbox full of OHotMUs. Indie stuff and creato...

In the news from a recent con (Baltimore, maybe?) an editor at Marvel said the book is on a brief hiatus, but that it will be back with Hudlin still writing.

Re: Back Issue Spotlight #11

...As far as the Back Issue Spotlights, I kinda prefer them to focus on older back issues, but if something recent strikes you guys' fancy, I say talk about it. I also say go and do some episodes on uncollected issues you guys want to discuss. Just because it hasn't been collected doesn't mean you ...

Weekly Comics Spotlight #55: 2008-08-27

Superman Beyond #1: I agree with some of your criticisms about Superman Beyond #1. The difference is that while I also found it a bit confusing on first read, I am looking forward to reading it again, finding a blog where someone has broken down all the references, reading it again, and then readin...

Mayo Report: 2008-07 Trades

Another fine effort at tackling the Diamond numbers, guys :) I would also like to see Diamond expand the list past the Top 100. The industry is shifting and it would be interesting to get better data on how the numbers reflect these changes. Chris raised the question of how delays effected the sales...

Personally I do a all over the place approach. LOL BUT as I said in a podcast with Bob and John my shop is a bit different than shops in the states. I know almost all of my customers and have pull lists for them. I mix the book up because I found customers would come in look at only one section, ch...

I can't participate due to lack of knowledge regarding the material, but I would enjoy hearing some discussion on the topic. I love the original trilogy but have never been drawn to any of the Expanded Universe stuff (that's what they call the ancillary media tie-ins, right?). I would suggest asking...

I enjoy the current format of no spoilers on the Weekly Spotlights and in depth discussion for the Back Issue Spotlight. In addition to not wanting to get spoiled on newer stuff, I think an in depth discussion is more appropriate when looking at several issues in a row, as you do with the Back Issue...

The discussion about toys and collectibles has me considering taking some photos of a few of my other collections and putting them up on the site. ...I guess the point of the "fatigue" (at least for me) is that the "Big 2" are so over-saturating the market with series that you can no longer just buy a couple of book because you like & want to follow a character. They take the popular characters and put them EVERYWHERE....

The last time I had event fatigue was in '94 when every Marvel book was crossing over with every other book. Since then I've not felt the need to pick up an "important" book if it is not by a creative team that I like. Luckily all the main Marvel events as of late have been worth the cove...

edit: I was confused about the Give Me Liberty HC. I thought you were referring to the upcoming Martha Washington Omnibus that has been talked about. Maybe the upcoming Omnibus has cooled interest in this old HC, so it's being remaindered. The core "Give Me Liberty" was far superior to an...
