Re: Question: animating audio
John, I haven't tried this yet, but I would like to do this for The Cantina Caravan.... A general Star Wars podcast. This podcast us part of The Star Wars Comics Cast, another podcast I co-host. I'll check out that software and see if I can find anything else comparable. I'll then report back. Thank...

Question: animating audio
John, I believe I remember you once talking about the possibility of using some animation software to sync your podcasts to. Do you remember the names of any if those programs? I'm thinkng of trying this for The Cantina Caravan, which is one of my Star Wars podcasts. Ant information would be greatly...

Re: DC Rebirth Rumor(s)
I'm excited that DC is trying to do some additional fan service for long time fans. Hopefully this brings back fans that went astray and keeps additional older fans from leaving. Further, the new number ones with the line wide $2.99 pricing should help bring in new readers. Let's hope they capitaliz...

Craft Comics Cast is looking for a new cohost
The Craft Comics Cast, a biweekly indie comics podcast, is currently looking for a replacement host. One of our 3 hosts is in the process of furthering his education and needs to pull back from the cast to focus on his studies. What we do: The Craft Comics Cast has been up and running for a year now...

Re: Rate of attrition on new craft/indie titles
I wasnt as concerned with weeding out mini or maxi series, especially considering those shorter series make up a large percentage of is produced by craft publishers.. I suppose you could also say the big two are moving to a maxi series model by rebooting or renumbering every 12 issues or so. Trying ...

Re: Big Two Price Gouging is a Problem
I couldn't agree more brother. It's one of the top reasons that pushed me away from Marvel. I'm know finding I'm starting to read less DC and that's also part of the issue there.

Rate of attrition on new craft/indie titles
John, I was wondering what the numbers tell us on the rate of attrition on new books from the big two as compared to the craft publishers. Are the average and median rates much different between the two groups? If so, what would you theorize the reasons for those differences are? Thanks, Ben Truax o...

Re: Questions for John
John, I just listened to episode 1001 and I enjoyed it very much. Congratulations on the accomplishment and thank you for all of the hard work, entertainment, education and thought provoking material. If I might be so bold, I've been inspired by episode 1001 to ask a few questions myself. Which of ...

Re: Welcome to the forum / Introduce Yourself
Derek, I greatly appreciate what you bring to this conversation, not simply in terms of academic knowledge, but also in terms of fandom and podcasting experience. I believe there is a great conversation(s) here to be had. I could certainly see why in general people might prefer one word over another...

Re: Welcome to the forum / Introduce Yourself
John,
I'm unaware of its prior use and it is something I'm trying to introduce to add more clarity than the term Indy/indie. The link was to provide reference on the term Indy.

Re: Welcome to the forum / Introduce Yourself
John, I'm glad you asked. I'm sure you are aware of the subjectivity for what is inclusive of indy/indie comics. Furthermore, the term indy, in and of itself, has some connotations that may be equally exclusive as they are inclusive to audiences. Here is some good reference material on this, http://...
