I tried out the digital comics after seeing Bob recommendati
I gave this DC "digital first" a try for 99 cents: http://www.comixology.com/Legends-of-the-Dark-Knight-2012-I-The-Butler-Did-It/digital-comic/DIG001482 Legends of the Dark Knight: The Butler Did It Writer: Damon Lindleof Artist: Jeff Lemire Early in his career as Batman, Bruce Wayne lear...

One last thought
Why not have some sort of one-time use code in the paper comics that allows you to get the digital version since you own the paper copy anyway. You can access it for your account... or download it once ... something like that. (Like when you buy a DVD that has a digital version included)

I have been wondering about when they would embrace digital
I haven't bought any single issue comics since the 1950's, although after discovering this podcast and site a few years ago I have purchased some trades (and keep up by following the reviews)... I have seen photo's of peoples collections and they look terrific, but I just don't have the room (or a s...

Very good points
I have been thinking that the small format of the ipod type devices would be too small to be effective for comic book art, but perhaps I am mistaken on that. It will be interesting to see the pricing on the digital version... and will the paper books come with free digital rights (like many DVD's do...

I thought it was pretty interesting panel
and considering the conditions the audio was better than I had anticipated. I also was surprised at how many panelists were interested in the interviews and whom they could get to interview rather than concentrating on the books themselves. I was also surprised at how many of the panel thought that ...

Does the company go all digital?
Or is there a place for the books... It seems to me that if the books are still profitable and people can argue that they contribute to the fanbase which supports the entire business, it seems crazy not to support them. Comic books are a way to tell stories.... that can be replaced by video or on-li...

Marvel dominated by short term gain mentality?
After the shout out in the last podcast, I was thinking about the now pulled thread of the Marvel conference call for investors. More than once in the presentation the speaker said that the actors in the movies were familar with the stories because they had 'read the book as a kid'. It seemed very c...

I listened to the conference call
http://www.corporate-ir.net/ireye/confLobby.zhtml?ticker=MVL&item_id=2220415 and the person posting the original comment asked a question at the investor conference... about the price increase to $3.99 and Marvel basically said that they were testing the market. They were trying a higher price p...

I also really liked this movie
It made perfect 'Star Trek universe' sense minus the Kirk taking over the ship. But in TV sci-fi the principle actors who happen to be the officers are the ones that lead the away teams (Stargate was also like this)...

Dow Jones industrials up today as more "green shoots&qu
John- Grats on your new position. (For anyone who isn't following financial news, there are a number of commentators discussing a turn in the economy and citing positive things calling them 'green shoots' that they feel will eventually turn into mighty economic oak trees.) Clearly John's news has ig...

Found some interesting stats on a DC site
http://www.dcindexes.com/database/report-annual-cost.php Anyway I listed to your podcasts and agree with the discussions about budgets, but I think the above link will prove instructive... In DC's Silver age the cost of every single DC comic for the year was around $40 (late 50's... when I started t...

super interview....
I now understand the industry much better than I did before. I enjoy the books, of course, but I always like to understand the underlying economics behind it as well. My hats off to the reader comments in the forum that gave me a heads up to listen to this episode.
